BMW has introduced the XM Label in India, marking the arrival of its most potent production vehicle to date. Priced at ₹3.15 crore, this limited edition hybrid SUV is imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU). The XM Label is part of a global production run of only 500 units, showcasing its exclusivity. It features a distinctive BMW Frozen Carbon Black Metallic exterior paint and BMW Individual Leather Merino upholstery in Fiona Red/Black for the interior, setting it apart from standard luxury vehicles.
The XM Label has impressive performance figures that solidify its position at the top of BMW's line-up:
- Twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine paired with an electric motor
- Combined output of 748 bhp and 1,000 Nm of torque
- 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.7 seconds, despite weighing 2,795 kg
Compared to the standard XM, the Label variant offers significantly more power. The internal combustion engine produces 585 bhp and 750 Nm, 94 bhp and 100 Nm more than the standard XM. The electric motor contributes an additional 197 bhp and 279 Nm, matching the electric motor's output in the standard XM.
Design-wise, the XM Label stands out with several unique elements:
- Bright red accents surrounding the kidney grille, windows, and wheels
- Special red XM badge on the radiator grille
- Red and black contrasting theme in the interior
- Sporty aesthetic that sets it apart from other luxury SUVs
The cabin is a technological showcase, equipped with several high-tech features:
- 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for clear information display
- 14.9-inch touchscreen with iDrive 8.5 operating system
- Head-up display for enhanced driver focus
- 3D headliner for added exclusivity and ambiance
Additional interior elements further emphasize the vehicle's performance background:
- M Steering Wheel for enhanced grip and control
- Carbon fibre paddle shifters for quick gear changes
- M logos on kick plates, reinforcing the brand's performance heritage
- Aluminum pedals for a sporty feel
- M-specific dials for a race-inspired look
The air conditioning vents are also highlighted with red accents, contributing to the sporty ambiance and tying in with the exterior design cues. The seats feature a contrasting red and black color scheme, with red accents throughout the cabin, an optional feature on the standard XM but standard on the Label variant.
This limited edition model represents BMW's push into the high-performance hybrid SUV segment, combining luxury, advanced technology, and exceptional power in a unique package. The XM Label showcases the potential of hybrid powertrains in delivering performance and efficiency, potentially setting a new benchmark in the luxury SUV market.
