Citroen India is leveling up its game in the Indian automotive market. The French automaker has officially announced the pre-bookings of its much-awaited car, the new Citroën Basalt X, across the nation. The company announced the bookings for this car with teaser images that appeared on its official social media account, positioned as a bold new entrant in the competitive SUV-coupe segment.
The launch of the Basalt X embodies a fresh design language, advanced technology, and premium craftsmanship built for modern Indian consumers. All this modernity signifies the all-new initiative of Citroen’s 2.0 Strategy in India. The car is the successor of the lineup, followed by the C3 X. However, Basalt X will set up the tone for the new chapter and a refined roadmap for long-term success for the brand. Let's check out the newest player in town.
Citroen India has officially confirmed that the upcoming Basalt X is now available for pre-bookings. Interested customers can reserve their vehicle by visiting the nearest authorized dealership or from the official website, too. Furthermore, customers can avail themselves of the pre-booking of the car by just depositing the amount of Rs 11,000 on the official website. This move gives enthusiasts and prospective buyers a strong head start in securing Citroën’s latest SUV offering.
The all-new Citroen Basalt X offers a host of prominent upgrades aimed at comfort and convenience. The recent teaser reveals that the car will get an all-new exterior styling with new LED headlamps and distinctive sporty appeal. The car's side profile may be badged with cladding, and the rear may display coupe-style taillights.
With Citroën’s signature comfort DNA, the vehicle is positioned as a premium urban SUV. While seeing the car at first sight, you may witness a modern aesthetic paired with a thoughtfully crafted cabin that emphasizes spaciousness, advanced connectivity, and refined ergonomics. According to reports, the Citroen Basalt X will have a dual-tone interior theme and 20+ features when ordered at the highest trim level.

Inside the vehicle, the brand will impress you with its all-new dual-tone interior color scheme. The upholstery could be premium wrapped in a black and brown finish with copper accents within the packaging. The dashboard boasts a digital touchscreen infotainment system with refined ergonomic controls. Moreover, the teaser also showcases a central armrest with twin cup holders with a small space in the front.
The announcement of Basalt X pre-bookings resonates with the brand’s 2.0 strategy. Under the brand’s portfolio, with models like the C5 Aircross and C3X, Citroen is now moving towards a sharper approach with better marketing and a brilliant strategy. The 2.0 strategy is embedded in four pillars of Citroen’s vision, which are expanding the product portfolio, strengthening distribution, enhancing consumer engagement, and increasing localization.
The upcoming Basalt X is the first product developed under this business strategy, symbolizing a shift from niche positioning to broader customer outreach. Citroën has also confirmed that the upcoming models after the Basalt X will be based on the same 2.0 strategy that will help the brand to provide more affordability and premium value.
The opening of the pre-bookings for the new Citroen Basalt X is the new stepping stone for the brand. The brand backed itself with its 2.0 strategy, which will help it position itself as the forward-looking car manufacturer in India.
