Citroen Basalt: French automaker, Citroen will launch the Basalt Vision in India soon. Once launched the coupe SUV will be one of its kind in India until the launch of its rival Tata Curvv. The upcoming Basalt will be the fifth product to be introduced in India by Citroen. Citroen is introducing Basalt in a new segment in India, promising design excellence and comfort. The automaker is again trying its luck in the Indian auto market with a unique proposition.

We have already spotted the Basalt in India without any camouflage on it. Almost every exterior detail of the coupe SUV is public now. However, the rumoured design is confirmed as the OEM has made available the shots of Citroen Basalt on its official website. If you are the one who is curious about this upcoming premium coupe SUV, check out all the things you can expect from Basalt.

Citroen Basalt Coupe SUV: Design

As mentioned above, the company has already revealed the production model of the upcoming Basalt. Citroen Basalt will get the advantage of its coupe design in the Indian auto market. The coupe SUV comes with a sloping roofline which merges with the boot at the rear. Apart from this, the Citroen Basalt comes with large and unique wheel arches, black rear bumpers, black accents, blacked-out ORVMs and wraparound tail lamps.

Most of the time the coupe SUV was spotted with steel wheels, but we are expecting that the SUV will be equipped with 15 or 16-inch alloy wheels. The SUV gets a muscular yet gentle look at the front and carries body-coloured bumpers, LED projector headlamps, daytime running lights and fog lights.

Citroen Basalt: Interiors and Convenience

On the feature too, the Citroen Basalt is a fully loaded vehicle. It offers features such as a 10.25 touchscreen infotainment system, push start button, wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM and rain-sensing vipers.

The coupe SUV is also expected to come with safety features such as ISOFIX mounts, seatbelt reminder and six airbags. All these safety features are expected to be offered as standard in the Basalt SUV.

Citroen Basalt: Engine and Power

As far as the power is concerned, the Citroen Basalt will expectedly come equipped with a 1.2-litre petrol engine which the manufacturer also utilizes in the C3 SUV Aircross. This powerhouse generates a maximum power of 109 bhp and a peak torque of 205 Nm and comes coupled with a six-speed manual and automatic transmission unit.

Citroen Basalt: Price Details- Expected

After debuting in the Indian auto market, the Citroen Basalt will be launched with a starting price tag of Rs. 12 lakh. The coupe SUV will compete with Tata’s upcoming Curvv SUV.
