Pricing and Variant Differences

The base Visia trim starts at Rs 10.49 lakh, while the Tekna Plus tops the range at Rs 18.59 lakh. The price difference between the 1-litre turbo petrol Visia and Tekna Plus is Rs 6 lakh. The Visia variant is equipped with a 1-litre turbo petrol engine, while the Tekna Plus offers both the 1-litre and a more powerful 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine, the latter available only with an automatic transmission.

All Tekton variants share the same overall silhouette. The Tekna Plus, however, adds premium exterior features such as connected LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, a welcome and goodbye lighting animation, 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, and puddle lamps. The Visia rides on 17-inch steel wheels with covers and lacks these enhancements.

At the rear, both variants have LED taillights, an integrated roof spoiler, and a silver-finished skid plate. The Tekna Plus further includes a connected LED light bar and rear fog lamps, distinguishing it from the Visia.

The Tekton is available in six colours: Onyx Black, Blade Silver, Pearl White, Flare Garnet Red, Indigo Blue, and Moonbow Gray. The base Visia offers only three colour options, while the Tekna Plus is available in all colours and five dual-tone shades.

Inside, both variants provide a spacious cabin with ample knee and shoulder room. The Visia features an all-black interior with fabric upholstery, silver dashboard inserts, and soft-touch fabric trim. It includes a front sliding armrest, manually adjustable front seats, adjustable headrests, an illuminated glovebox, and rear AC vents. However, it lacks an infotainment touchscreen.

The Tekna Plus offers a dual-tone black-and-white cabin with burgundy accents and leatherette upholstery. Additional features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, cooled centre armrest storage (DCT only), panoramic sunroof, rear centre armrest with cupholders, 60:40 split rear seats, seat back pockets, and a parcel tray. These upgrades enhance the premium feel of the Tekna Plus.

The Visia comes with a 4-speaker Arkamys audio system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable ORVMs, automatic headlights, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, manual AC, rear AC vents, all one-touch power windows, LED cabin lights, and frameless wipers. Notably, it does not have an infotainment system.

The Tekna Plus adds a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with built-in Google, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 6-way powered and ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, powered tailgate, ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, 6-speaker Arkamys 3D surround system, PM2.5 air filter, cruise control, auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, drive and steering modes, keyless entry, push button start, and wireless phone charger.

Safety features are strong across all variants. Standard equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, ESC, traction control, cornering stability control, rollover sensors, hill hold, rear parking sensors, TPMS, central locking, speed-sensing auto door lock, impact-sensing door unlock, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and ISOFIX mounts. The Tekton holds a 5-star Bharat-NCAP rating. The Tekna Plus adds Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, all-wheel disc brakes, rear wiper, washer, defogger, and hill descent control (DCT only).

Engine Options and Competition

The Tekton offers three powertrain options: a 1-litre turbo petrol (manual only) and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol (manual and automatic). The Visia is available only with the 1-litre engine, while the Tekna Plus can be had with both engines, though the 1.3-litre is automatic only.

The Nissan Tekton competes with models such as the Renault Duster, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra and Curvv, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and MG Astor.

The Visia is suitable for buyers seeking a spacious compact SUV with essential features and strong safety. The Tekna Plus offers a premium experience with advanced features and safety, making it ideal for those seeking more comfort and technology. Nissan provides multiple variants to suit different budgets and preferences, with the N-Connecta offering a balance between price and features.
