Hero MotoCorp, the largest 2-wheeler manufacturer in the world, has officially discontinued two motorcycle models from its collection. These discontinued bikes are the Xpulse 200T and Xtreme200S. This move is a part of the company’s strategy to focus on more successful models in the future.
Reasons for the Discontinuation
The primary reason for the company to discontinue these bikes from its lineup is that these motorcycles were struggling to gain traction in the Indian market. Additionally, they failed to get a similar level of popularity to their sibling Xpulse 200 off-roader. However, the company recently introduced some upgrades to these models such as a four-valve engine from the Xtreme 200S but still, these models had not generated sufficient sales volumes to continue the production of these bikes. Consequently, the company made this decision which reflects Hero’s response to low demand and declined sales performance.
Future Plans of Hero MotoCorp
Hero MotoCorp is actively working on expanding its premium motorcycle lineup. The company is set to introduce new models such as the Xpulse 210, which was showcased at EICMA earlier this year. The upcoming Xpulse 210 will feature enhanced power, performance, and features, which makes it a worthy successor to the existing models. According to the updates, Hero will add the following models to the lineup soon- Xtreme 250, Karizma ZMR 250, and Variants of the Maverick 440.
These new models are expected to provide a more compelling experience for buyers and align with Hero's goal of establishing a premium motorcycle presence.
Conclusion
The discontinuation of the Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S can be a significant move for the company to re-establish its product portfolio. While these models will no longer be available, the introduction of new motorcycles like the Xpulse 210 aims to capture consumer interest and drive sales in the future.
