Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) achieved strong sales growth in October 2024, totaling 5,97,711 units, with 5,53,120 sold domestically and 44,591 units exported. Popular models like the Activa, Shine, and Dio contributed to this success.
In October 2024, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) celebrated remarkable growth with total two-wheeler sales reaching 5,97,711 units, a significant year-on-year (YoY) increase. This growth underscores Honda’s resilience in a competitive market and aligns with India’s escalating demand for two-wheelers across urban and rural areas. Breaking down these figures, Honda achieved 5,53,120 units in domestic sales, reflecting a robust 19.53% YoY growth, while exports marked an impressive 47.96% increase, totaling 44,591 units.
This performance is largely attributed to Honda’s strong lineup of scooters and motorcycles that resonate with Indian consumers, particularly the Honda Activa, Honda Shine, and Honda Dio. The Activa has long dominated the scooter segment, and with ongoing upgrades, it continues to be a favourite among urban riders for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and ease of use. The Honda Shine, a staple in the commuter motorcycle category, consistently appeals to customers seeking a comfortable, fuel-efficient ride. The Dio, with its youthful design and performance-oriented features, has attracted a younger demographic, contributing to Honda’s well-rounded market appeal.
Honda’s growth in October 2024 also highlights their efforts to strengthen their dealer network, particularly in expanding their BigWing outlets. BigWing, Honda’s premium two-wheeler division, has seen considerable growth this year, expanding into more cities to cater to premium motorcycle enthusiasts. This strategic expansion not only allows Honda to capture a larger market share in the premium segment but also strengthens its brand presence across the nation.
Honda’s impressive October sales are also part of a broader trend for the brand in 2024. Earlier this year, Honda reached major milestones in several key states, including Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, where it celebrated landmark sales achievements. Such milestones underscore Honda’s growing influence in some of India’s most significant two-wheeler markets and reinforce the brand’s commitment to meeting diverse customer needs across India.
