Design Elements and Styling

The upcoming Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted on Indian roads, providing a sneak peek into its design. The vehicle is based on the facelifted model of the Creta, featuring familiar headlights and tail-lights. The overall silhouette closely mirrors that of the ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Creta facelift. Notably, the Creta EV showcases unique elements, including a closed-off front grille with a potential off-centre, nose-mounted charging port, similar to the Kona Electric. The spy shots also reveal the presence of new aerodynamically efficient 17-inch alloy wheels, with the possibility of 18-inch options.

Interior Insights

While the interior of the Creta EV is expected to share similarities with the facelifted model, there may be some additions from the Ioniq 5, giving it an electric flair. Anticipate a familiar dashboard design with twin displays, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen system and a matching digital instrument cluster. EV-specific features, such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), could be introduced, along with potential adjustments to the color theme.

Powertrain and Battery Specifications

The Creta EV is set to be equipped with a 45kWh battery pack supplied by LG Chem. Although this places it slightly behind competitors like the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Maruti eVX in terms of battery capacity, it surpasses the Nexon EV long-range. Real-world range estimates hover around 250 km on a single charge. The electric motor is expected to be shared with the latest-gen Kona EV, boasting a front-axle-mounted motor producing approximately 138hp and 255 Nm of torque.
