Hyundai Ioniq V Specs Detailed: 225 bhp, 800V Charging, Over 600 km Range

Hyundai has revealed key specifications for the Ioniq V, its latest electric vehicle, at Auto China 2026 in Beijing. The Ioniq V, based on the Venus concept, marks Hyundai's push to expand its Ioniq brand in China. The company plans to launch 20 new models in the country over the next five years.

Ioniq V Powertrain and Performance

According to homologation documents filed with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ioniq V will come with a single-motor setup. Buyers can choose between a 140 kW (190 PS) or a 168 kW (228 PS) motor. The top speed is listed at 165 km/h. Hyundai has not yet disclosed battery pack sizes, but the Ioniq V will offer a maximum range of over 600 km under the CLTC standard.

The performance of the more powerful Ioniq V variant aligns with the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 rear-wheel-drive long-range models sold globally. All-wheel-drive dual-motor versions of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 reach 324 PS, and similar figures are expected when the Ioniq V AWD variant launches in China.

The Ioniq V is built on Hyundai’s E-GMP electric platform, which supports 800V fast charging. This allows for rapid charging, with a 10% to 80% charge achievable in about 18 minutes, similar to the Ioniq 5 sold in India.

Design, Dimensions, and Technology

The Ioniq V adopts Hyundai’s ‘The Origin’ design philosophy for the Chinese market. The vehicle features H-styled lighting, hidden headlamps, large aerodynamic alloy wheels, flush door handles, frameless doors, and a coupe-like roofline. At the rear, it includes a full-width light bar, IONIQ badging, and diffuser-style bumper inserts.

The Ioniq V measures 4,900 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,470 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. These dimensions are close to the global Ioniq 6 model.

Hyundai has partnered with technology companies such as Qualcomm, Momenta, CATL, Volcano Engine, and Baidu Wenxin for the Ioniq V. The vehicle’s systems are expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8295 cockpit chip and dual AI large-model support. Key features include a 27-inch ultra-thin 4K display, a Cyber Eye head-up display unit, and an ambient lighting system. The Ioniq V will also offer Momenta-assisted L2+ driving functions.
