Hyundai is readying its new era for the electrification of cars. The South Korean carmaker is ready to expand its electric lineup with the global debut of the upcoming all-new Ioniq 3, slated for April 2026. This upcoming Hyundai Ioniq 3 will lead the brand’s new product in the European market and will sit below the existing Ioniq 5 overseas.
According to the brand, the Ioniq 3 is expected to debut as Hyundai’s most affordable EV catered to budget-friendly customers. The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 3 will be riding on the brand’s proven E-GMP platform, ready to deliver range within a compact footprint. The SUV will target markets in Europe and Asia first before making its way to other regions, including India.

Hyundai already showed the production model of the Ioniq 3 with the Concept Three at the 2025 Munich Motor Show. Talking about its design, the electric car will have the same proportions as the current Hyundai i20 model. The recent test mule was spotted under camouflage, hinting at some design inspirations from the modern Genesis models.
While getting inside the car, the upcoming Ioniq 3 is likely to follow Hyundai’s inspired Living Space philosophy, which focuses on openness, sustainable mobility, and new updated tech and features. Customers can expect a dual-screen layout integrating with the digital driver’s display and infotainment system.
Additional features might include wireless smartphone connectivity, a wireless charger, automatic climate control, and a new ADAS system with a full 6 airbags as standard. The cabin might offer leather-finished upholstery with soft-touch recycled materials, a panoramic glass roof, and minimalist design cues that will make the cabin feel premium yet purposeful.

The upcoming 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 3 will be powered by the same battery configuration as the Kia EV4. The car will be equipped with the latter’s 400-volt E-GMP platform, offering a claimed range of about 628 km. For Indian customers, the car will be available with two-wheel and all-wheel drive as an option. Power output is expected to range between 150 HP and 220 HP, depending upon the battery variant.

Hyundai will officially make the debut of the Ioniq 3 in April 2026. With a digital world premiere followed by regional reveals in key markets. The EV is expected to go on sale in select regions by mid‑2026, competing with models such as the Peugeot e‑2008, Kia EV3, and Volkswagen ID.2all.
According to sources close to Hyundai’s product planning division, the Ioniq 3 is being positioned as a bridge between compact hatchbacks and small crossovers, making it an ideal fit for densely populated markets that demand efficiency without compromising comfort.
With the Ioniq 3, Hyundai aims to strengthen its foothold in the fast‑growing electric crossover segment, combining efficiency, technology, and affordability into a single enticing package. As electric mobility accelerates globally, the Ioniq 3 could well be Hyundai’s next major step in making EVs a household reality for millions.
