JSW Jaecoo J5 and iCar V23 interiors spied ahead of India launch
The upcoming JSW Jaecoo J5 and iCar V23 interiors have been spied, showcasing modern layouts, premium features, and tech-focused cabins ahead of their India launch.

JSW Motors is preparing to enter the Indian automotive market with new energy vehicles in partnership with Chery Automobile from China. Recent spy shots reveal the India-spec interiors of the Jaecoo J5 and iCar V23, both of which are undergoing local testing in Pune. These vehicles are expected to be assembled from CKD kits at JSW Motors' upcoming facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.

India-Spec Jaecoo J5 Details

The Jaecoo J5 features a minimalist interior with all four AC vents aligned horizontally. It includes a 13.5-inch portrait-style infotainment touchscreen that also controls climate functions. The vehicle has a steering column-mounted gear selector, a floating centre console with storage, and a hidden LCD instrument cluster.
Additional features visible in the spy shots include leatherette upholstery, a front centre armrest, a stylish steering wheel with touch-based controls, a manually dimming IRVM, and a 50W fast wireless charging pad. The model also offers a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, eight speakers, and a powered tailgate.
The Jaecoo J5 is powered by a 60.9 kWh battery pack and a 210 PS electric motor driving the front wheels. It offers a 461 km NEDC range and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. The vehicle supports 130 kW peak DC charging and features independent rear suspension. Other specifications include 17 advanced driver assistance features, 540-degree cameras, a 480-litre boot, a 35-litre frunk, 200 mm ground clearance, 18-inch alloy wheels, a length of 4,380 mm, and a 2,620 mm wheelbase.
iCar V23 Base Variant Insights

The iCar V23 was also spied in what appears to be its base variant, equipped with 19-inch steel wheels. Previous sightings have shown alloy wheel variants with 21-inch wheels. The iCar V23 measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, 1,845 mm in height, and has a 2,735 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance reaches up to 210 mm.
Globally, the iCar V23 is available in three variants: 2WD Play, 2WD Plus, and 4WD Peak. The two 2WD variants come with 19-inch steel wheels and a 59.93 kWh battery, offering a 401 km CLTC range. The higher-spec 4WD Peak variant features an 81.76 kWh battery and a 501 km range.
The iCar V23 has a boxy design, resulting in an upright cabin. Interior features include a 15.4-inch central infotainment touchscreen that integrates instrumentation, speed-sensing volume, seven speakers, a disconnected centre console, a steering column-mounted gear selector, and powered, ventilated front seats.
Testing and Market Preparation
Both vehicles were spotted testing near the ARAI certification body in Pune, a key step for local homologation. JSW Motors may rebrand these models for the Indian market and apply its own logo. The company aims to introduce multiple new energy vehicles as it establishes its manufacturing presence in India.
