JSW MG Motor India has joined forces with Shell India Markets Private Limited (SIMPL) to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India. This collaboration aims to provide JSW MG Motor India customers access to Shell's extensive fuel station network for EV charging.
The partnership includes:
• Installation of CCS 50kW and 60kW DC fast chargers by Shell India at various locations nationwide
• Integration of these chargers with the MyMG App and Shell's network discovery tool for easy access
Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer (CGO), JSW MG Motor India, stated, "As India's second-largest EV manufacturer, we aim to enhance the electric vehicle (EV) ownership experience for our customers. Our partnership with Shell India highlights our shared commitment to sustainable mobility and will help accelerate EV adoption across the country."
Shell's EV Recharge locations promise reliable charging with 98%-99% charger uptime and offer additional amenities such as food and beverages.
JSW MG Motor India has been actively developing the EV ecosystem in India. The company has established a comprehensive charging infrastructure, including:
• AC and DC fast chargers in residential communities and showrooms
• A 6-way charging ecosystem for customers
• Installation of around 500 chargers in 500 days in residential areas
These efforts have contributed to a network of over 15,000 charging touchpoints nationwide, including public and home chargers. The partnership with Shell is expected to further expand this network and make long-distance travel more convenient for EV users.
This collaboration represents a significant step towards improving EV infrastructure in India, potentially encouraging more consumers to consider electric vehicles as a viable transportation option.
