Kia India has announced a surge in bookings for its recently launched Carnival MPV, crossing 3,350 reservations as of mid-December 2024. This marks a significant increase from the 2,796 bookings recorded at the vehicle’s launch in early October. Despite the growing demand, the Carnival now commands a waiting period of over six months, with the company having delivered 400 units so far.
A New Benchmark in Luxury MPVs
The new Kia Carnival, introduced in October at an ex-showroom price of ₹63.90 lakh, comes in a single, fully-loaded variant. While its pricing positions it as a premium offering, the MPV justifies the cost with an array of cutting-edge features and technology aimed at redefining luxury travel.
Standard features in the Carnival include:
- Dual electric sunroofs.
- Powered front and second-row seats with heating, ventilation, and a driver seat memory function.
- Three-zone climate control.
- Powered rear sliding doors and tailgate.
- A 12-speaker Bose sound system.
- A 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
- Head-up display and connected car technology.
- 64-colour ambient lighting.
- Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
Seating in the Carnival is designed for comfort, offering three rows as standard, including individual captain seats in the second row. The MPV is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 190 bhp, ensuring a smooth yet powerful drive. Customers have shown equal preference for the two available exterior colour options being, black and white.
Customer Response and Industry Milestone
Speaking on the Carnival’s market performance, Hardeep Singh Brar, Sr. Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, said, “We are thrilled to announce that we have achieved the milestone of delivering 400 Kia Carnival Limousines to our esteemed customers within 2 months of delivery commencement.
This milestone is a testament to the unwavering trust of our customers in the Kia brand. The Carnival has a rich legacy, and we were confident that its latest iteration, with its unparalleled blend of luxury, advanced technology, and premium features, would resonate with our discerning customers.”
Looking Ahead: Kia Syros SUV Debut on December 19
As Kia celebrates the success of the Carnival, the company is gearing up for its next big launch in India, the Syros SUV. Slated for its global debut on December 19, the Syros has been teased extensively, building anticipation among consumers and automotive enthusiasts.
With Carnival setting a new benchmark in the premium MPV segment and the Syros expected to expand Kia’s footprint in the Indian market, the brand continues to reinforce its reputation as a leader in innovation, luxury, and customer satisfaction.
