Kia has expanded its Sonet lineup by offering the mid-spec HTK trim with every available powertrain. This move allows buyers to select the HTK trim with their preferred engine and transmission combination. Kia has stated it will not produce a model smaller than the Sonet, positioning the HTK as its entry-level offering on its own terms.
Key Highlights
- Kia Sonet HTK trim now available with all powertrain options
- HTK (O) is the entry point for automatic transmission in the Sonet range
- HTK+ (O) variant adds features like alloy wheels LED lamps and dual dash cams
- HTK (O) priced from Rs 10.29 lakh to Rs 13.07 lakh on-road Mumbai
- HTK+ (O) priced from Rs 11.29 lakh to Rs 14.10 lakh on-road Mumbai
HTK Trim Now Across All Powertrains

The HTK (O) variant serves as the entry point for automatic transmission options in the Sonet range. Buyers can choose the 1.0-litre petrol or the 1.5-litre diesel engine with automatic transmission in this trim. The HTK (O) variant is priced between Rs. 10.29 lakh and Rs. 13.07 lakh (on-road Mumbai).
HTK+ (O) Variant Adds More Features
For an additional Rs. 1 lakh over the HTK (O), customers can opt for the HTK+ (O) variant. This higher variant introduces several enhancements, including alloy wheels, chrome grille inserts, LED headlamps, and LED fog lamps. The interior receives two-tone treatment, and convenience features such as remote engine start and dual dash cams are included.
The HTK+ (O) also adds a one-touch window function, rear defogger, and rear wiper. These features aim to provide a more comfortable and practical experience for drivers and passengers. The HTK+ (O) range is priced from Rs. 11.29 lakh to Rs. 14.10 lakh (on-road Mumbai).
Pricing and Market Position
Kia's strategy with the Sonet HTK and HTK+ (O) variants is to offer a broader choice without restricting buyers to specific powertrains. By expanding the HTK trim across all engine and transmission options, Kia addresses diverse customer needs. The additional features in the HTK+ (O) variant justify the price increase for buyers seeking more equipment.
The Sonet remains Kia's smallest model, and these updates reinforce its position in the competitive compact SUV segment. The company continues to focus on value and flexibility for its customers in India.
