Key Sustainability Initiatives
The central focus of the campaign is an e-waste collection drive. Participating Kia workshops have been designated as authorized drop-off centers for discarded electronic items. The company aims to collect more than 1,000 kilograms of e-waste across 31 sites. Alongside this, workshops are offering complimentary vehicle emission checks to customers. These checks are paired with sessions on vehicle performance and its impact on the environment.
Kia India is also conducting specialized training for workshop technicians. This training covers the correct handling, storage, and disposal of used engine oil. The goal is to improve waste management standards throughout Kia's service network. Additionally, sapling distribution and plantation drives are being held at several locations to support ecological conservation efforts.
Corporate Commitment and Clean Energy Efforts

Bhimsen Gulabani, Vice President—Customer Experience at Kia India, stated that sustainability remains an ongoing operational priority. He highlighted that the company's extensive workshop network provides regular opportunities to engage with customers and promote responsible environmental behavior.
The campaign also showcases Kia India's clean energy initiatives. The company operates 132 Green Workshops that collectively generate 9.8 megawatts of solar power. These efforts are part of broader energy conservation activities, including awareness drives on efficient power use and renewable energy adoption across Kia's facilities.
Atul Sood, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, emphasized that sustainability is integrated throughout Kia India's value chain. This includes the dealer network and the manufacturing plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The facility has adopted renewable energy, resource-efficient operations, and water conservation measures. Systems are in place to enable the reuse of treated wastewater, demonstrating the company's long-term environmental commitments.
Company Operations and Impact
Kia India began manufacturing in August 2019 and now has an annual production capacity of 300,000 units. The company maintains a retail presence at 891 touchpoints in 402 cities. To date, Kia India has recorded over 1.5 million domestic vehicle sales and has exported more than 367,000 units.
CarBike 360 Says
Kia India’s nationwide sustainability initiative marks a significant step toward greener automotive service practices, reinforcing its commitment beyond products to responsible operations. By transforming 500 workshops into eco-conscious hubs, the brand not only reduces its environmental footprint but also sets a benchmark for the industry, aligning business growth with long-term sustainability goals in the Indian market.
