Kia India sold 29,112 units in March 2026, led by Sonet and Seltos with strong year-on-year growth. Premium models like Carnival and Syros saw steep declines, while EV6 and EV9 recorded no sales.

Kia maintained a 6.5% market share in India during March 2026, with total sales reaching 29,112 units. The company ranked sixth among leading automakers in the country. Compared to March 2025, Kia achieved a 14% year-on-year growth, up from 25,525 units. On a month-on-month basis, sales increased by 5% from 27,610 units in February 2026.

Top Performing Models

The Kia Sonet was the company's best-selling model in March 2026, recording 12,012 units sold. This represented a 56% year-on-year increase over the 7,705 units sold in March 2025. Month-on-month, Sonet sales rose by 23% from 9,780 units in February 2026.

The new generation Kia Seltos followed as the second highest-selling model. Seltos sales surged by 69% year-on-year to 11,041 units, compared to 6,525 units in March 2025. This marked the highest monthly sales for the new Seltos since its deliveries began earlier in the year. Month-on-month, Seltos sales improved by 7% over the 10,308 units sold in February 2026. Kia plans to expand the Seltos lineup by adding GTX (O) and X-Line (O) trims.

The Carens Clavis also saw increased demand, with 5,933 units sold in March 2026. This was an 8% year-on-year rise. However, month-on-month sales for Carens Clavis declined by 13% compared to 6,815 units in February 2026.

Declining Sales for Premium Models

Kia's premium and niche models experienced significant declines. The Carnival recorded only 67 units sold in March 2026, a 71% year-on-year drop from 230 units in March 2025. Month-on-month, Carnival sales fell by 11% from 75 units in February 2026.

The Syros model contributed 59 units to total sales last month. This represented a 99% year-on-year decline from 5,015 units in March 2025. Compared to February 2026, when 662 units were sold, Syros sales dropped by 91%.

Kia's electric vehicles, the EV6 and EV9, recorded zero sales in March 2026.
