The SUV achieved top marks for both adult and child occupant protection, highlighting its strong safety credentials. Bharat NCAP tested variants including the HTE (O) and GTX diesel automatic, confirming robust structural integrity across the Seltos lineup.

The Kia Seltos scored 31.70 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it achieved 15.70 out of 16. The side-movable deformable barrier test saw a perfect 16 out of 16 score. The SUV also cleared the side pole impact test, demonstrating strong side collision protection.

For Child Occupant Protection (COP), Seltos registered 45.00 out of 49. This includes a full 24 out of 24 in dynamic performance and 12 out of 12 for child restraint system (CRS) installation. The vehicle assessment score was 9 out of 13, indicating high compatibility with child safety systems. ISOFIX mounts are provided on rear outboard seats to support secure child seat installation.

Standard safety equipment includes multiple airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, side curtain airbags, and electronic stability control (ESC). Seatbelt reminders for all passengers and pedestrian protection systems are also standard. However, the Seltos does not offer knee airbags or some side airbags.

Market Position and Model Updates

With its AOP score, the Seltos ranks 4th among all cars tested by Bharat NCAP so far. It trails only the Mahindra XEV 9e and Tata Harrier EV (both at 32.00) and the Mahindra BE 6 (31.97). Seltos leads over models like Maruti Victoris, Tata Punch EV, and Skoda Kylaq in adult occupant protection points.

Since the updated model's launch, Seltos has maintained strong sales, with monthly deliveries exceeding 10,000 units since January 2026. The new-generation Seltos is built on the advanced K3 platform, enhancing structural strength and safety. The SUV measures 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width and has a 2,690 mm wheelbase, providing improved cabin space and road presence.

Kia has also introduced an upgraded ADAS suite, enhanced safety architecture, improved cabin refinement, and expanded digital interfaces. The Seltos continues to offer multiple powertrain and transmission options, appealing to a broad range of buyers in the midsize SUV segment.
