Kia Syros EV launched in India at Rs 13.49 lakh with assured buyback programme

​Kia India has launched the Syros EV, its second locally manufactured electric vehicle, with prices starting at Rs 13.49 lakh for the 42 kWh variant and Rs 16.99 lakh for the 51.4 kWh Extended Range variant. Nationwide sales will begin on 30 July 2026. The Syros EV comes with a buyback scheme, a battery subscription plan, and a 15-year battery warranty.

Exterior Design and Styling

​The Kia Syros EV showcases a bold, futuristic exterior design inspired by Kia’s latest global EVs like the Kia EV9 and the Kia Carnival. Its front features vertically stacked LED headlamps with signature Star Map DRLs, a sleek Digital Tiger Face, and muscular body-coloured cladding.

The design profile highlights flush door handles, 17-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars for a floating roof effect, and rugged wheel-arch cladding. At the rear, split L-shaped LED tail lamps, a minimal integrated spoiler, and chunky bumper styling complete its distinctive, SUV-inspired aesthetic.

Interior and Safety Features

The Syros EV’s cabin features a 30-inch panoramic display panel that combines the instrument cluster, touchscreen, and climate control interface. Additional features include ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and wireless smartphone charging. On safety, the vehicle is equipped with Level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems offering 16 functions, including collision-avoidance assist and lane-keeping. Six airbags and electronic stability control come as standard.

The Syros EV is also equipped with a range of EV-exclusive technologies — Paddle Shifters for Regenerative Braking with Auto Mode and i-Pedal, Vehicle-to-Load (Internal), Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS), a Battery Heating System and Shift-by-Wire - Column-Type.

Key Features and Specifications

The Syros EV is available with two battery options. The 51.4 kWh battery provides an ARAI-certified range of 526 km, making it the first vehicle in its segment to exceed 500 km. The 42 kWh battery offers a range of 443 km. Both variants support DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 39 minutes. The vehicle delivers 171 PS of power and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds with the larger battery pack.

The SUV is built on Kia's K1 platform and uses a Nickel Manganese Cobalt battery. It features regenerative braking paddle shifters, vehicle-to-load capability, and a battery heating system to support performance in varied climates. The Syros EV is offered in seven trims, with nine exterior colours and three interior themes. The exterior includes LED lighting and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Ownership Benefits and Charging Network

Kia India has introduced several ownership benefits for Syros EV buyers. The assured buyback programme offers up to 80 per cent resale value after three years. The Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option allows ownership to start at Rs 7.99 lakh, with battery EMIs from Rs 3.3 per kilometre. The high-voltage battery warranty covers 15 years with unlimited kilometres for the first owner.

The Syros EV is supported by Kia's K-Charge ecosystem, accessible via the MyKia app. This network connects to over 20,300 charging points from 23 charge point operators across India. More than 129 Kia dealerships are equipped with DC fast chargers, and over 275 workshops are EV-ready.

The Kia Syros EV comes in seven trims across two battery packs, with nine exterior colours — Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte, Ivory Silver Gloss, Aurora Black Pearl, and, exclusively for X-Line ER, Xclusive Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl — and three interior themes: Cloud Blue & Grey, Onyx Black & Off-White, and the exclusive Onyx Black & Hunter Green.
