The Škoda Vision O concept offers a striking glimpse at the future of the Octavia—a fully electric estate car designed to combine practicality, cutting-edge technology, and eco-friendly design.

Škoda Unveils Vision O Concept: Is It a Preview of Next-Gen Octavia Electric?

Skoda Auto has revealed its future concept vehicle, O, offering a first look at the forthcoming 2025 Munich Motor Show. The Skoda Vision O Concept car, now poised to go fully electric, teases the design and technology direction for the Czech carmaker. This upcoming concept embodies the brand’s commitment to sustainable growth, refreshed design, and reliability.

The new design of the Vision O also reflects Skoda’s 130-year tradition and signifies the brand’s commitment to sustainable innovation. The Vision O concept truly defines Škoda’s iconic estate heritage through a sleek, aerodynamic silhouette complemented by sharp, angular headlight designs. Let us take a closer look at the upcoming design of the new Vision O.

Skoda Vision O Design Philosophy

As the design was revealed by the brand, we can see a persistent evolution in the design language when comparing it with the other existing models. The concept features a steeply raked windshield and a gracefully sloping roofline. These aesthetics were later combined with the typical Skoda estate models. The abbreviation O rather stands for the concept of circularity.

Škoda’s focus on circularity—sustainability through recycling and reusability—is reflected in every aspect of its productivity. These elements combine design with efficiency, reflecting over a century of expertise in producing beloved estate models, such as the Octavia Combi and Superb Combi under the portfolio.

From the CEO’s Vision

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda Auto, stated that “The Skoda Vision O design study will highlight the future trajectory of estate models under the influence of new technologies, sustainability, and the deep experience of Skoda Auto in this segment. This will be one of our most significant steps in developing and evolving our design language even further for this period of transition in the automotive industry.”

He later added, “It will position us to remain a major player in the estate segment, where Skoda Auto has been engaged since the 1920s. We are excited to present this concept to the world in early September 2025, marking a new era for Skoda Auto.”

A preview of next-gen Octavia

The Vision O is likely to preview the next-gen Octavia, which is to be launched later this year. The car will be built on the latest EV-centric Volkswagen Group SSP (Scalable System Platform). This platform is suited for the Czech EVs, which hints to us that the next-gen Octavia might go fully electric.

The car inherits the practicality that resonates with Octavia owners. Added roof rails extend utility for active lifestyles.

Conclusion

The Skoda Vision O concept is an astonishing design statement that bridges with Skoda’s rich heritage, wrapped under modern tech, rich features, and an appealing look. With a new design and enhanced powertrain, the car will rewrite its legacy amid the electric revolution.
