Mahindra Accelerates India’s EV Revolution with Ultra-Fast Charging Network, Plans to Establish 1000 Stations By 2027
Mahindra has launched ultra-fast 180 kW EV charging stations on major highways, aiming to set up 1,000 stations by 2027. This bold step boosts public EV infrastructure, making long-distance electric travel faster.

Mahindra has taken a monumental stride in India's electric vehicle landscape by inaugurating its first two ultra-fast charging stations under the Charge_IN network. As the nation moves rapidly towards electrification, this bold step ushers in a new era of convenient and reliable EV charging infrastructure along major highways. The company aims to install 1,000 charging points by 2027, powering the future of sustainable mobility.
This ambitious expansion not only supports Mahindra’s own electric vehicle portfolio but also aligns with India’s nationwide push to strengthen public EV infrastructure. By integrating fast chargers with traveler-friendly amenities, Mahindra is making long-distance electric travel practical and stress-free for all EV users, thereby boosting confidence in electric mobility.
Launching Ultra-Fast Charge_IN Stations
Mahindra unveiled its first two 180 kW ultra-fast charging stations at strategic highway locations—Hoskote on NH75 (Bengaluru–Chennai highway) and Murthal on NH44 near Delhi. Each station hosts two chargers, capable of simultaneously serving up to four electric vehicles, significantly reducing charging times and wait periods. These chargers can power Mahindra’s electric SUVs from 20% to 80% charge in just 20 minutes, demonstrating cutting-edge technology that makes EV ownership more convenient for daily commuters and travelers alike.
Vision for a Comprehensive Charging Network

The Charge_IN network aims for 250 stations nationwide, each equipped with ultra-fast 180 kW chargers, culminating in over 1,000 charging points by the end of 2027. Positioned along major highway corridors, these stations will be complemented by nearby restaurants, cafes, and other passenger amenities, turning charging stops into comfortable travel breaks. This holistic approach addresses a critical bottleneck in the EV adoption journey—range anxiety and charging accessibility.
Open and Accessible Infrastructure
Mahindra’s Charge_IN stations are not restricted to its own vehicles but cater to all EV brands, creating an open-access network. Integration with platforms like the Me4U app, the dedicated Charge_IN app allows users to easily locate, navigate to, and pay for charging sessions seamlessly. Such digital interconnectivity elevates user experience and broadens reach.

Strategic Alignment with National Goals
This initiative aligns with India’s government priorities to expand EV charging infrastructure as a catalyst for accelerated electric mobility adoption. Mahindra’s ambitious rollout supports the country’s ambitious climate targets by promoting zero-emission transport options and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Collaborations like the MoU with Adani Total Energies E-Mobility demonstrate a concerted effort towards building a robust and accessible EV ecosystem.
Conclusion
Mahindra’s Charge_IN ultra-fast charging network marks a significant leap towards electrifying Indian roads with convenient and efficient infrastructure, epitomizing the company’s commitment to sustainable innovation and customer-centric solutions in the electric vehicle space.
