Mahindra's Electric SUV Expansion

Out of the five concepts revealed in 2022, Mahindra has already launched three production models. The BE.05 entered the market as BE6, XUV.e8 became XEV 9S, and XUV. e9 was introduced as XEV 9e. BE6 and XEV 9e were the first to launch, with XEV 9S joining the lineup later. In just 10 months, BE6 and XEV 9e have together sold over 41,000 units. The addition of XEV 9S is expected to further boost Mahindra’s electric vehicle sales volumes.
Jejurikar stated that B07 is an internal codename, and the production model will likely have a different name. He described the upcoming SUV as a potential high-volume driver, supplementing the current three electric models. Mahindra’s EV strategy for FY27 centers on BE6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S, and the forthcoming B07.
B07: Platform, Design, and Features

The B07 will use Mahindra’s dedicated INGLO platform, which supports advanced battery packs, high-performance motors, and next-generation software. Design patents indicate that the production BE.07 will remain close to the original concept. Compared to the sportier BE6, the BE.07 features a more traditional SUV profile with an upright stance and clean lines. It keeps the C-shaped LED headlamps and tail lamps, though with a less angular look.
The BE.07 concept measures about 4,565 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height, with a 2,775 mm wheelbase. This positions B07 above BE6 and competitors like Maruti eVitara, Hyundai Creta EV, and Tata Sierra EV, but below the larger XEV 9e and XEV 9S in Mahindra’s range.
Interior details of the B07 production are not yet public. The concept featured a wide triple-screen dashboard, a large panoramic sunroof, and minimal physical buttons. Touch and haptic controls were central to the design. Based on Mahindra’s recent models, B07 is expected to offer advanced connectivity, ADAS, large digital displays, and over-the-air updates.

Battery, Performance, and Market Position
The B07 will likely offer two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh, similar to other Born Electric SUVs. The real-world driving range is expected to exceed 500 km. Power output is anticipated to be around 230 PS, with torque near 400 Nm, supporting strong acceleration and performance. These features will help the B07 compete in the premium electric SUV segment.
Conclusion
With a confirmed 2027 launch, the B07 will play a key role in Mahindra’s Born Electric portfolio. As demand for premium electric SUVs grows in India, B07 is set to strengthen Mahindra’s position in the mid-to-large EV SUV market.
