Mahindra Teases XEV 9S Before Its Official Launch on November 27
Mahindra teases the XEV 9S, its new premium 7-seater electric SUV, ahead of the official November 27 debut. Built on the advanced INGLO platform, it offers spacious interiors and innovative features for families seeking versatility.

Mahindra & Mahindra is making plans to expand its product portfolio in India. The SUV giant has recently revealed the teaser of its upcoming electric 7-seater SUV, the XEV 9S, with an official launch date of November 27, 2025. This upcoming electric SUV aims to redefine space, power, and performance in Mahindra’s EV lineup. The 7-seater SUV will be positioned as one of the brand’s largest and most premium electric vehicles, poised to cater to both families and urban driving.
According to the latest teaser that resurfaced on the internet, we can clearly see an authentic representation of the upcoming XEV 9S’s bold and aggressive look. This move just came after the launch of the Mahindra BE6 Batman Edition and XEV 9e as a part of the expansion strategy. Let’s check out the further details and what specs this car might offer for Indian consumers.

As the brand has not revealed anything about its specific design. We can expect that the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S will carry forward the design aesthetics from the existing XEV 9e. The XEV 9S will be the first-ever three-row electric car from Mahindra in India. The design element would be similar to the XEV 9e. However, a few production-spec versions might be based on the XUV 700 electric prototype. The SUV's design is expected to echo the muscular stance and connected lighting signatures of Mahindra’s recent electric SUVs, including a connected light bar and vertically stacked LED headlamps.
With a relatively longer wheelbase compared to Mahindra’s 5-seater XEV 9e, the XEV 9S will accommodate an additional row of seating while preserving a sleek and aerodynamic silhouette. The interior could offer leather upholstery with a 3-screen display setup.
Based on INGLO Platform

The XEV 9S will be a born-electric SUV and will be built from the INGLO skateboard platform. This existing design platform will be offering free up space through its flat-floor configuration and enable smart features like sliding second-row seats to optimize passenger comfort. The platform’s low center of gravity is engineered to deliver enhanced stability and ride comfort.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Battery & Range
Mahindra has not disclosed any news related to its powertrain. However, we can assume, based on its portfolio strategy, that the car might be powered by a big battery pack configuration setup that can cover the distance of 500 km or above in a single charge. Furthermore, it can also carry the same battery pack as the XEV 9e, which offers 656 km on a single charge.
Market Outlook
Scheduled to premiere at Mahindra’s ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru, the XEV 9S is poised to lead Mahindra’s electric range, sitting above the XEV 9e coupe SUV. While there is no direct rival with a 7-seater EV configuration currently dominating this segment, the XEV 9S will likely attract customers from premium ICE SUVs and emerging EV competitors, including the Tata Harrier EV and models from BYD and VinFast, and the upcoming Kia Syros EV.
Conclusion
Mahindra’s strategic choice to develop a large, purpose-built electric SUV underscores its commitment to shaping India’s EV future and expanding choices in this fast-evolving segment. The XEV 9S is expected to start sales in January 2026, making it a crucial product in Mahindra’s portfolio.
