The automotive ownership experience is set for a major convenience leap as Samsung announces its Digital Car Key support for Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs in India. This innovative technology featured within Samsung Wallet empowers Galaxy smartphone users driving Mahindra's premium electric SUVs to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles. This configuration progression will work seamlessly using their phones, eliminating the need for physical car keys.
Mahindra and Mahindra Group becomes the first Indian automaker to adopt this advanced connected technology, reflecting its commitment to integrating futuristic solutions with customer-centric design. This pioneering collaboration adds an intelligent layer to the ownership journey of Mahindra’s electric SUVs.
Cutting-Edge Convenience with Samsung Digital Car Key
Samsung Wallet’s Digital Car Key is now compatible with Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUV lineup, including the XEV 9e and BE 6 models for the 2025 edition. The feature is built directly into Galaxy smartphones, offering users a smooth and secure method to manage vehicle access from anywhere. Besides automating traditional key functions, users can share their digital keys with trusted family or friends for a specified duration.
Data Security and User Privacy
Security is the top priority with Samsung’s Digital Car Key, which uses biometric or PIN-based authentication to prevent unauthorized use. For example, if a device containing the digital key is lost or stolen, owners can remotely lock or erase the device’s data, including the key, through Samsung’s Find service, ensuring protection against potential risks. The defense-grade security powered by Samsung Knox also safeguards every interaction within Samsung Wallet, which also houses various digital essential payment methods, ID cards, and more.
Mahindra and Samsung Partnership: Driving Innovation Forward
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “Our Electric Origin SUVs—XEV 9e and BE6—have captivated our customers with their advanced technology and futuristic design. We are delighted to partner with Samsung to bring yet another first-in-class feature—Digital Car Key via Samsung Wallet.”
He later added, “This will ensure every journey is even more seamless and convenient. This latest innovation will electrify Mahindra’s commitment to deliver an exceptional ownership experience with premium, intelligent electric SUVs for India.”
