Mahindra & Mahindra has officially unveiled the Vision S Concept SUV that refines the definition of compact SUVs in India. The concept Vision S might probably be the next-generation Bolero. Launched at the recent Independence Day event, the Vision S strongly hints at the future of upcoming SUVs under the Mahindra portfolio.
With its robust design and advanced features, the vehicle is going to be built on the highly anticipated NU IQ platform. This platform will be capable of supporting both combustion and electric powertrains. The Vision S, which has an off-road DNA badge and a sub-4 m footprint, is expected to bring fresh dynamism to the SUV market.

While looking at the car for the first time, you might see its muscular body aesthetics with sleek modern lines. The vehicle receives thick cladding on the lower areas for protection. At the front, you witness pixel-shaped fog lamps, roof-mounted lights, and flush door handles. However, the production unit might feature the front fascia consisting of the Twin Peaks signature logo stacked vertically around the body. For the first time ever, the brand has introduced a new L-shaped design for the headlamps.

When getting inside the car, the Vision S showcases a blend of innovation and comfort. The brand has recently revealed the digitally created picture of the cabin, which offers an all-new dual-tone theme along with the premium upholstery. The dashboard boasts dual digital screens, which seem to be 12-inch units. However, they are not integrated into one.
Both are separated by a vertical AC vent. Paired with a new three-spoke steering wheel emblazoned with Vision S. Furthermore, cutting-edge tech includes a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Mahindra’s new NU UX infotainment system, creating a digital yet inviting atmosphere.
The new model is based on Mahindra’s new NU.IQ platform. However, the brand has not disclosed any details about its powertrain specs. Considering the newly developed platform, the car can have multiple engine options, such as petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric. Adding options of FWD and AWD to Indian buyers.
Its 2,665 mm wheelbase promises ample cabin space. The concept also hints at modern safety features such as Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, and a suite of airbags to ensure peace of mind on every journey.
The Vision S will spearhead the company’s push into future mobility with a launch slated for early 2027. With its innovative tech and robust design, the car might attract young urban adventurers. For now, we can only wait and see how the production spec car turns out in reality. Car enthusiasts can look forward to a thrilling new chapter in Mahindra’s SUV legacy.
