Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing ways to bring the much-awaited XEV 9S to India. The official launch of the car is scheduled for November 27, 2025. This will be the brand's first fully electric 7-seater SUV, making an astonishing move under the Born Electric portfolio. The upcoming XEV 9S promises to offer a montage of advanced technology, space, and comfort.
Mahindra already revealed the teaser trailer a week ago. In the teaser, we can clearly see the new subtle changes to the exterior. Positioned at the top of Mahindra’s electric SUV portfolio, the XEV 9S is expected to compete in the Rs 21-45 lakh segment, offering a powerful alternative to traditional petrol and diesel SUVs. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9S.
Revolutionary Design

The Mahindra XEV 9S is designed on the advanced INGLO skateboard platform, a dedicated electric vehicle architecture that maximizes interior space and structural rigidity. This SUV sports a bold and futuristic exterior with sleek, aerodynamic LED lighting and a commanding stance that reflects its electric origins.
While getting inside the cabin, the XEV 9S offers seven seats, making it ideal for larger families or those requiring extra passenger capacity. We can expect premium comfort features such as ventilated and massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and three-zone climate control, ensuring every occupant travels in style.
Mahindra XEV 9S: Features

Providing top-notch features within a catered budget is what Mahindra specializes in. The SUV boasts a triple-screen setup comprising a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment touchscreen, and an entertainment display for front passengers. Connectivity includes an AI-based voice assistant, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and six airbags as standard.
Talking about safety, Mahindra will offer the upcoming XEV 9S with the latest ADAS Level 2 suite. This safety feature includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. Additionally, the SUV will have eight airbags, a 360-degree surround camera, electronic stability control, and front and rear parking sensors, ensuring comprehensive protection for all occupants.
Performance & Range
The 2025 Mahindra XEV 9S will offer high power outputs ranging between approximately 230 HP and 350 HP, depending on the variant. The SUV will primarily be offered with rear-wheel drive, with a likely all-wheel-drive option for the top variants. Battery options are expected to mirror those of its Born Electric siblings, the XEV 9e and BE 6, with available packs of 59 kWh and 79 kWh, respectively.
Launch and Market Positioning

Mahindra has confirmed that the XEV 9S will make its global debut on November 27 at the ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru. The vehicle will give tough competition to the Hyundai Creta Electric, Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Kia Syros EV.
