XUV.e8 in Production-Ready State
A recent spy shot taken within the premises of the Mahindra's factory has revealed that the XUV.e8 is in a close-to-production state, providing the enthusiasts and buyers with a glimpse of what to expect in the late 2024. Sharing several exterior panels with the XUV700, the XUV.e8 showcases a familiar bonnet, doors, and roofline, maintaining the Mahindra's design language. Notable design elements, including the distinct kink near the C-pillar, align with earlier filed design patents.

Exterior Features
What sets the XUV.e8 apart is its distinctive fascia, featuring a full-width LED light bar dominating the front end, seamlessly dropping down into the bumper. The hallmark sealed-off grille, common in EVs, is also present, with triangular headlamp housings integrated into the bumper. While the spy shot doesn't reveal the rear design, expectations are still high for it to mirror the sleek and stylish appeal of the XUV700.
Advanced Interior
Spy shots of the XUV.e8's interior reveal a technologically advanced cabin, boasting three horizontally oriented screens. The digital driver’s display, central infotainment screen, and a third screen for the passenger providing comprehensive details of the vehicle. Additionally, the interior also features a new touch-based climate control panel and a flat-bottomed, two-spoke steering wheel that’s reminiscent of the Tata SUVs.
Balancing Innovation and Cost-Effectiveness
To maintain the competitiveness, Mahindra plans to incorporate some parts sharing with the conventional XUV700. The shared components such as the switchgear, door panels, and seats ensure a balance between the innovation and cost-effectiveness, making the XUV.e8 an attractive proposition in the EV market.

Performance and Sustainability
Despite sharing its body with the XUV700, the XUV.e8 still stands as a unique offering that’s based on the Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard platform. Promising an all-wheel-drive system and battery options of up to 80kWh, power outputs will range from 230hp to over 350hp. This EV powerhouse is set to hit the market by December 2024, marking the Mahindra’s foray into the electric vehicle segment.
