Maruti Suzuki's eVitara, India's first mass-market EV SUV, arrives December 2 with a 500 km range, premium tech, and safety. Book now at Nexa for Rs 21,000.

Maruti Suzuki is ready to redefine electric mobility in India with the eVitara, its first battery-electric SUV, launching on December 2, 2025. This will be the first electric car from Maruti Suzuki to be launching for the first time in India. Built on the dedicated HEARTECT-e platform, this mid-size EV promises up to 500 km of range and advanced Level-2 ADAS. The brand offers a blend of efficiency, safety, and premium features tailored for Indian roads.
Maruti Suzuki has already started the bookings, which are live at Nexa dealerships for Rs 21,001, signaling strong anticipation in a crowded EV segment. Deliveries follow soon after launch, positioning it against rivals like the Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVitara.
Striking Refreshed Design

The eVitara will follow the same design portfolio as its petrol-powered vehicle. However, we can see a few subtle changes. The front fascia of the car offers sporty Y-shaped LED DRLs, matrix headlights, and arches with 18-inch alloys. The eVitara boasts a muscular stance with compact overhangs for agility. Dual-tone colors like Opulent Red with a black roof enhance appeal, while the flat-floor HEARTECT-e platform maximizes space in a C-segment body seating five.
Maruti Suzuki eVitara: Battery & Range
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVitara offers two LFP battery packs as an option for the Indian customers—49 kWh that produces 142 HP of power and 189 Nm of peak torque. The second battery configuration offers 61 kWh, which produces 172 HP of power. The larger pack enables a 2WD or ALLGRIP-e 4WD setup with 300 Nm torque and Trail Mode for off-road traction.
The vehicle is said to have a claimed range of 500 km on the 61 kWh unit, with 0-80% DC fast charging in 50 minutes. This configuration will be ideal for highways and city commutes. For the 2025 iteration, the brand offers Drive modes, which include Eco, Normal, and Sport, paired with regenerative braking and one-pedal driving. The car is capable of reaching a top speed of 180 kmph.
Premium Interiors
Talking about the interiors, the dashboard offers a dual 10.1-inch screen setup that supports wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and Suzuki Connect. Key features are ventilated seats, 10-way power driver adjustment, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and JBL audio to elevate comfort. Rear AC vents, wireless charging, and a floating console add everyday luxury.

Improved Safety Features

The first Maruti car with seven airbags (including knee) features all-disc brakes, EPB with auto-hold, TPMS, and a 360-degree camera. Level-2 ADAS includes adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and autonomous emergency braking.
The brand also offers a boot capacity that starts at 400 liters, expanding to over 1,000 liters with folded seats, practical for families. The high-tensile steel structure promises Euro NCAP 4-star safety equivalent.
Conclusion
As the Maruti Suzuki eVitara charges into showrooms on December 2, it promises to electrify India's SUV market with unmatched range, tech, and value. Let’s wait for the real-world experience of this sustainable mobility.
