Mercedes Benz Maybach GLS 600 and AMG S63 India Debut Tomorrow; Details

Mercedes Benz has confirmed that it will be launching the all-new 2024 Maybach GLS 600 and AMG S63 Performance sedan in India tomorrow i.e. May 22. The debut of these cars aligns with the automaker’s plan to launch 9 new vehicles in India in 2024 which will also include 3 electric offerings. Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 Upgrades

The new Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 Facelift is expected to get similar upgrades as the one available in international markets. In terms of exteriors, the SUV will feature new LED headlamps, a new grille with a larger vertical, and new front bumpers. 22-inch alloy wheels and new tail lamp units.

Interiors will not receive any major updates except a new dual-screen display, rear side infotainment screen, updated steering wheel, 27-speaker Burmester sound system, leather upholstery and ambient lighting.

Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 Powertrain

Mechanically, Things have not much changed, as the new Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 will be powered by the same 4.0 litre V8 twin-turbocharged petrol engine. This powerhouse generates the maximum power of 557 bhp and a peak torque of 730 Nm and comes mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Mercedes AMG S63 E Performance

There is a lot more excitement for the launch of the AMG version of the S-class sedan in the industry. It is expected to be the most powerful avatar of the Mercedes’s flagship sedan in India. The upcoming Mercedes AMG S63 E Performance sedan has received multiple upgrades to make its way to India which include the AMG-specific grille, quad-exhaust tips, larger air intakes and 21-inch alloy wheels.

As far as the interiors are concerned, the AMG S63 Performance sedan will be loaded with features such as a 12.8-inch MBUX infotainment screen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, 4 zones climatic control, 12.3-inch digital driver display. Additionally, we can expect some drive features which include Ride Control+ suspension, rear-axle steering and AMG Active Ride Control stabilisation with electromechanical anti-roll bars.
