Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its first-ever electric vehicle under the Maybach badge in India. The Maybach EQS SUV, priced at Rs. 2.25 crore (ex-showroom), is now the second most expensive electric SUV in the Indian market, surpassed only by the Lotus Eletre. This flagship e-SUV from Mercedes-Benz showcases Maybach-specific design elements, features, and technological upgrades, setting it apart from the standard EQS SUV while maintaining the same dimensions.
The Maybach EQS SUV bears distinctive exterior features, including a black grille panel with vertical chrome-plated strips, creating the signature Maybach waterfall grille. The indium-made panel allows radar beams to pass through, eliminating the need for a visible radar panel. The iconic three-pointed star emblem now sits atop the bonnet's top, and an optional dual-tone paint scheme is available.
The EQS incorporates a triple-screen display featuring Maybach-specific start-up sequences. The rear-seat entertainment package includes two 11.6-inch displays and an MBUX tablet usable inside and outside the vehicle.

Optional add-ons for the Maybach EQS SUV include:
- Chauffeur package for enhanced rear passenger comfort
- First-Class Rear package with thermal cup holders and additional interfaces
- Folding tables
- Cooling compartment
- Silver-plated champagne goblets
The India-spec Maybach EQS SUV is offered exclusively in the top-tier 680 trim. Its dual electric motor setup delivers an impressive 658hp and 950Nm of torque, distributed to all four wheels via the standard 4Matic AWD system. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, with a top speed of 210 km/h. The 122kWh battery provides a WLTP-certified range of up to 611 km on a single charge.
Charging capabilities are equally impressive, with a 200kW DC fast charger able to boost the battery from 10% to 80% in 31 minutes. Mercedes claims that 20 minutes of charging can add 300 km of range.
