The Baojun Yep Plus, built on the same platform as the MG Comet EV, that is the GSEV Platform, it boasts of a wheelbase that is 450mm longer than its 3-door counterpart, measuring at an impressive 2,560mm. The overall length sees an increase of around 600mm compared to the 3.4-meter Yep. Additionally, the width and height have been augmented by 75mm and 5mm, reaching 1,760mm and 1,726mm, respectively. The design cues remain consistent with the Yep, featuring a boxy appearance reminiscent of the iconic Jimny, with distinct styling elements such as Defender-style C-pillars and Porsche-like graphics on the headlights.

While specific battery details are yet to be disclosed, indications suggest that the Yep Plus will house a larger unit than the 28.1kWh battery found in the 3-door Yep. The claimed range stands at an impressive 401km, showcasing improvements over its predecessor. The EV will be equipped with a 102hp motor mounted on the rear axle, offering a notable top speed of 150kph.
Building on the shared Global Small Electric Vehicle (GSEV) platform, the Baojun Yep series aligns with MG Motor India's plans for an electric SUV. The Indian market is anticipated to witness the arrival of the MG-badged version, codenamed E260, expected around 2025. This offering is likely to compete with rivals such as the recently launched Tata Punch EV.
