MG Windsor has achieved a landmark moment for India’s electric mobility story by crossing 50,000 unit sales in under 400 days, becoming the fastest four-wheeler EV in the country to touch this milestone. The sales figures underline how quickly mainstream buyers are warming up to practical, well-priced electric crossovers that fit daily urban and intercity needs.
Launched in late 2024, the Windsor has consistently topped India’s EV charts, averaging around 125 buyers every single day to hit the 50,000 mark. For JSW MG Motor India, it has emerged as the brand’s volume backbone in the new-energy space, transforming MG from an early EV adopter to a mass-market electric player in barely a year.
Record-breaking sales milestone
JSW MG Motor India confirms that Windsor has crossed 50,000 units in just about 400 days of sales, making it the quickest four-wheeler EV to reach this benchmark in the country. This also means Windsor now leads cumulative sales among electric passenger cars launched in the last few years.
The model has regularly contributed the lion’s share of MG’s monthly volumes, with over 4,400 units sold in October 2025 alone and strong momentum through 2025 despite overall market fluctuations. Windsor’s performance has been pivotal in helping JSW MG Motor cross the larger 1 lakh EV sales landmark in India.
Reason For Such Immense Sales
MG positioned Windsor as India’s first intelligent vehicle with a blend of hatchback-like city agility with MPV-style space and an SUV-inspired stance. The distinct AeroGlide design, large glasshouse, and urban-friendly proportions have helped it stand out in a crowded compact EV space.
The most important factor might be the aggressive introductory pricing from Rs 9.99 lakh under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which lowered entry costs for first-time EV buyers.
MG Windsor EV: Battery & Range

Windsor is configured with a 100-volt motor that produces a 136 HP motor and 200 Nm of torque, delivering performance suited to both city bursts and highway cruising. The EV’s front-wheel-drive layout, multiple drive modes, and regenerative braking calibration focus on predictable, confidence-inspiring dynamics rather than outright sportiness.
The larger 52.9 kWh battery in the Windsor Pro offers a certified range of up to 449 km on a single charge, addressing one of the biggest adoption barriers for EVs in India.

Features
Inside, Windsor offers a 15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen that integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with navigation, over-the-air updates, and a premium audio system by Infinity in higher variants. Features like a panoramic sunroof and extensive storage
Windsor’s safety package includes a robust body structure, multiple airbags, and electronic stability aids, complemented by Level 2 ADAS on higher trims. The suite offers functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and autonomous emergency braking designed for Indian traffic conditions.
Conclusion
One of the most telling aspects of Windsor’s success is its demand pattern, which extends well beyond big metros into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This indicates growing confidence in EV infrastructure and rising awareness about the total cost of ownership in smaller markets
