MG is making plans to expand its current product portfolio to the latest edition for the 2026 season. With successful car sales in the electric segment, MG is gearing up to bring the updated version of the MG Hector. According to the latest reports, the MG Hector facelift was recently spotted while being tested. The upcoming model might offer a new bold design and upgraded features.
With subtle yet impactful styling changes and advanced technology, the refreshed Hector is poised to attract buyers seeking a premium, tech-rich mid-size SUV. MG’s efforts signal a strong commitment to staying ahead of rivals like Tata Harrier and Hyundai Creta in 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming MG Hector.
New Upgraded Exterior

As per the latest spy shots surfaced in the media, the MG Hector might showcase a sporty exterior design with a redesigned diamond-grille front fascia and sleek LED headlamps integrated with an LED DRL. The bumper design might appeal to a sharper stance, boosting the SUV’s road presence.
On the side, the muscular profile remains the same but is enhanced by new dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome accents for a premium appeal. The rear dazzles with connected LED tail lamps, a sportier spoiler, and a refreshed tailgate design, giving it a modern and upscale finish.
Premium Interiors
Talking about the interiors, we can expect Hector’s cabin to have been revamped with dual-tone leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and improved noise insulation. This time, the dashboard boasts a 14-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system, now equipped with faster processing, enhanced graphics, and wireless smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
MG Hector 2026: Engine Specs

The brand did not disclose any further details of its powertrain units. But we can assume that the brand will retain its trusted 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 143 HP and 250 Nm torque, paired either with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. The facelift improves the mild hybrid system to deliver better fuel efficiency and smoother power delivery.
Another engine, a 2.0L diesel engine, continues to offer 170 HP and 350 Nm torque, with refined NVH levels and enhanced mid-range performance.
Cutting-Edge Safety and Smart Technology
Safety gets a major update with the inclusion of ADAS Level 2 features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking. The Hector now comes standard with six airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tire pressure monitoring system, and hill-hold assist.
