MG Motor India has raised the prices of its ZS EV, but they have also increased prices for other models such as the Hector, Hector Plus, and Astor. The price hike affects select variants of the ZS EV, with increases ranging up to ₹32,000. The revisions apply to specific models, not the entire portfolio.
MG ZS EV is still a significant player in the electric car market, but its replacement, the MG ES5, was presented at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. When the ES5 finally arrives in China and Europe in the middle of 2025, it will eventually take the place of the ZS EV.
Two battery options are available for the Chinese-spec ES5: a 49.1 kWh pack that has a 425 km range, and a 62.2 kWh pack that has a 525 km range. Although the front-axle-mounted motor of the ZS EV generates 174 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque, the performance of the future ES5 is anticipated to be comparable.
Breakdown of Price Hike
- Essence Dark Grey Variant: ₹32,000 increase.
- 100-Year Edition and Essence Dual-Tone Iconic Ivory: ₹31,000 increase.
- Exclusive Plus Dark Grey: ₹30,200 increase.
- Exclusive Plus Dual-Tone Iconic Ivory: ₹30,000 increase.
However, the entry-level Executive and Excite Pro variants remain unaffected. Following the revisions, the updated pricing for the ZS EV ranges between ₹18.98 lakh and ₹25.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
