Mini Cooper S GP inspired edition launched in India with only 30 units available

Mini India has started pre-bookings for the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition. This special edition is limited to 30 units. Pricing details will be announced in the coming weeks. The model features several cosmetic upgrades compared to the standard Cooper S.

Exterior and Interior Features

The Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition comes in a Legend Grey exterior shade. It features a chili red contrast roof and mirror caps. The hatchback includes a John Cooper Works (JCW) styling package. This package offers revised bumpers, a new grille, side skirts, and a roof spoiler. GP-inspired elements include front and side winglets, bonnet stripes, illuminated door sills, and a rear diffuser. The car rides on 17-inch black alloy wheels. The C pillar displays a unique ‘1 of 30’ badge, highlighting its limited production.

Inside, the cabin has JCW sport seats with red accents on the headrests. The steering wheel is also JCW-specific. The car includes a circular 9.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, and a panoramic glass roof. Other features are a powered driver seat, heads-up display, and Level 1 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Performance and Pricing Details

The GP Inspired Edition uses the same mechanical setup as the standard Cooper S. It has a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 201 HP and 300 Nm of torque. The engine pairs with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Mini claims the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

Mini India has recently expanded its special edition range. Recent models include the Convertible S JCW Pack and Cooper S Victory Edition. The company has also opened bookings for the Countryman C. The Cooper S GP Inspired Edition is expected to be priced between Rs. 57 lakh and Rs. 58 lakh, ex-showroom. It will be positioned above the Cooper S JCW Pack, which is currently priced at Rs. 55.15 lakh, ex-showroom.
