PM Modi calls for fuel conservation, launches Rs 9,400 crore development projects in Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need for careful use of petrol, gas, and diesel during an event in Telangana on Sunday. He stated that using these fuels only as required will help save foreign exchange and reduce the negative impact of global conflicts.

Modi virtually laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth approximately Rs 9,400 crore in Telangana. The event took place at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and was attended by Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and other leaders.
Government Focus on Energy and Infrastructure
The Prime Minister highlighted India's progress in solar power, noting that the country now ranks among the top nations globally in this sector. He said the government has achieved 100 percent LPG coverage and is now working to expand the supply of piped gas to households. Efforts are also underway to promote a CNG-based system for transportation and domestic use.
Modi stressed that these initiatives help India manage its energy needs more effectively. He urged citizens to use imported fuels only when necessary, which will help conserve foreign exchange and lessen the impact of international conflicts on the country.
Major Projects Launched in Telangana
During the event, Modi laid the foundation for several key infrastructure projects. These include the four-laning of National Highway-167 from Gudebellur to Mahabubnagar on the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor and the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in the Sangareddy district.
He also inaugurated sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking railway project, a Greenfield POL (Petroleum, Oil, and Lubricants) terminal in Hyderabad, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass, and the PM MITRA Park at Warangal.
Kakatiya Mega Textile Park
The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, developed at an estimated cost of Rs 1,700 crore, is India's first fully functional PM MITRA Park. The park operationalizes the center's 5F vision: Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. This initiative aims to strengthen India's textile sector and boost exports.
Modi assured families in Telangana that the central government will continue to work at a faster pace to fulfill their aspirations. He said India is advancing reforms and building modern infrastructure to support economic growth and development.
