Tata Motors, a pioneer in the electric vehicle (EV) segment, is set to elevate its standing with the imminent launch of the Punch EV. Positioned above the successful Tiago EV, the Punch EV is gearing up to compete with formidable contenders like the Citroen eC3 and the upcoming Hyundai Exter EV. Riding high on the success of products like the Nexon EV, Tata aims to maintain its dominant position in the rapidly evolving EV market.
Punch.ev Off-Roading Capabilities Revealed:
In a recent Instagram post, Tata Motors showcased the off-roading prowess of the Punch EV, defying the conventional perceptions about the sturdiness of electric cars. The video displays the Punch EV effortlessly conquering challenging terrains, including uneven tracks, articulation tests, mud and gravel dirt tracks, and even water crossings. The revelation dispels any lingering doubts about the robustness and safety of electric vehicles.

The Punch EV, unlike its predecessors like the Tiago EV and Nexon EV, is built on a new pure EV architecture named 'acti.ev.' This platform prioritizes performance, technology, modularity, and space efficiency, enabling the Punch EV to exhibit exceptional off-roading capabilities. The acti.ev platform features an orthogonal, high-density battery pack designed for optimal space utilization and performance. Supporting various body styles, the platform offers a range of 300 to 400 km and accommodates all three propulsion options: FWD, RWD, and AWD. The Punch EV is also equipped with fast-charging capabilities, allowing users to add around 100 km in just 10 minutes.
Punch EV New Interior Details Revealed:
Adding to the excitement, the Punch EV's interior details have been unveiled, featuring components borrowed from the successful Nexon EV. The Empowered+ variant boasts dual 10.25-inch displays, while the Empowered variant features a single 10.25-inch infotainment screen and a 7-inch digital instrument console. The dashboard has received a refreshing update, including a new touch-sensitive AC control panel and the signature 2-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo. Punch EV's interior also includes new dual-tone upholstery, with the possibility of more theme options based on the variant.
