The first customer, Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam from Chennai, received his vehicle directly from Francois Provost, CEO of Renault Group. This event signals the official return of the Duster to the Indian market.

First Delivery and Key Handover

The first delivery took place in Chennai, attended by top Renault executives including Francois Provost and Stephane Deblaise. Dr. Arthanari Manickavasagam became the first owner of the new Renault Duster in India. The handover highlights Renault’s commitment to its Indian customers and its focus on the SUV segment.

Retail Expansion in Chennai

Alongside the first delivery, Renault inaugurated its second new’R store in Chennai. The new showroom is located on Mount Road and spans 4,500 square feet. It features a 3,000 square foot area dedicated to customer interaction and vehicle display. The facility can showcase up to five vehicles at a time and includes a dedicated delivery bay to enhance the buying experience.

This is the second new’R store in Chennai and the eleventh in India. Renault plans to expand this network to about 70 outlets nationwide by the end of the year. These new stores will supplement Renault’s existing network of over 350 sales touchpoints across the country.

The new Renault Duster is available with two turbo petrol engine options: TCe 100 and TCe 160. Both manual and automatic gearbox choices are offered. Prices for the new Duster start at Rs 10.49 lakh for the base Authentic variant and go up to Rs 18.49 lakh for the top-spec Iconic DCT trim. The lineup includes several variants such as Evolution, Techno, Techno+, and Iconic, catering to a broad range of customers.

Renault is offering an R Pass benefit, which can reduce the price by up to Rs 40,000 depending on the chosen variant. This initiative aims to enhance the value proposition for buyers in the competitive SUV segment.

Ownership and After-Sales Initiatives

Renault is also strengthening its ownership experience through the Renault Forever program. This program provides extended coverage for up to 7 years or 150,000 kilometers. With deliveries underway and a growing retail network, Renault aims to establish the Duster as a strong competitor in India’s SUV market.
