Royal Enfield, owned by Eicher Motors, has announced plans to invest around Rs 2,500 crore in a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. This move aims to meet rising domestic and export demand for its premium motorcycles. The company disclosed in a stock exchange filing that it will secure a land parcel in Tada near Tirupati for the facility, which will be developed in phases. The investment is subject to board approval and future market conditions. Royal Enfield did not specify the size of the land parcel.

Current Capacity and Expansion Plans
Royal Enfield currently operates at an annual manufacturing capacity of about 1.46 million motorcycles. This capacity is running close to full utilization. Earlier in the year, the company announced an additional investment of Rs 958 crore to expand capacity at its Cheyyar plant in Tamil Nadu. With this expansion, Royal Enfield’s total installed production capacity will reach approximately 2 million units per year.
The new Andhra Pradesh project marks Royal Enfield’s next major manufacturing expansion. The company aims to strengthen its position in the global mid-sized motorcycle segment through this investment. The phased development of the Tirupati facility will help Royal Enfield meet future demand and support its growth strategy.
Sales Performance and Global Operations
Royal Enfield achieved sales of over 1.2 million motorcycles in FY26. This marks the second consecutive year the company has sold more than one million units. The company currently operates four manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu. In addition to its Indian plants, Royal Enfield has CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly operations in Bangladesh, Nepal, Brazil, Thailand, Argentina, and Colombia.
B. Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors and CEO of Royal Enfield, stated that the Andhra Pradesh investment will augment production capacity and drive the company’s next phase of growth. The company plans to spend nearly Rs 3,000 crore in India and Rs 500 crore in Europe, with about 80% of the FY27 capital expenditure allocated to these projects.

The new facility in Tirupati will be developed in phases, allowing Royal Enfield to scale production as market demand increases. The company’s ongoing investments reflect its commitment to expanding both domestic and international operations. Royal Enfield’s focus remains on strengthening its presence in the global mid-sized motorcycle market while meeting the needs of its growing customer base.
