Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has been recognized as the top automobile exporter by the Mumbai Port Authority, marking a significant milestone in its export operations and reinforcing India’s role in global automotive manufacturing.

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has received the ‘Automobile: Top Exporter’ award for FY2025-26 from the Mumbai Port Authority. The company exported over 40,000 vehicles through Mumbai Port during this fiscal year. This recognition highlights India's increasing importance in Volkswagen Group’s global export strategy.

Export Milestone and Recognition
The Mumbai Port Authority presented the award at its Business Conclave with Partners. SAVWIPL’s export operations use Mumbai Port as a key hub for shipments to international markets. The company confirmed that Mumbai Port supports vehicle exports to Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and North America.
This latest award follows a similar recognition for FY2023-24. SAVWIPL has exported more than 725,000 vehicles from India to over 40 international markets as part of its ongoing export program. Amit Madan, Vice President – Logistics Region India, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Dr. M. Angamuthu, Chairperson, and Adesh Titarmare, Deputy Chairperson of the Mumbai Port Authority, presented the award.
Current Export Operations
SAVWIPL currently exports the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, as well as the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia models. The company is also increasing exports of parts and components to support local assembly in selected international markets. SAVWIPL continues to assess new export opportunities, including recent expansion into Sri Lanka.
Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of SAVWIPL, stated that the company’s manufacturing ecosystem in India now serves as a global export base for the Volkswagen Group. He emphasized the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s role within the Group’s worldwide production and supply network.
