If you’ve got your eye on Skoda’s new Kylaq compact SUV in India, here’s the scoop: you might be waiting a while. Thanks to crazy demand and some production hiccups, delivery times have stretched up to four months for certain variants.
The base Classic trim—manual-only with limited color options—is the tough variant to get, with that four-month wait. Step up to the Signature trim, and you’re still looking at three to four months. But if you go all-in on the top-tier Signature+ or Prestige models, things ease up a bit, with waits around two to three months.
Under the hood, the Kylaq packs a punchy 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine (115 hp, 178 Nm) paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. And it’s surprisingly efficient—close to 20 kmpl. The loaded models sweeten the deal with perks like ventilated front seats, a sunroof, ambient lighting, a 10-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and six airbags. Oh, and it’s already aced Bharat NCAP’s crash tests with a 5-star rating.
Skoda’s aiming to deliver 33,000 units by May 2025, focusing heavily on those higher-spec variants. They even had to pause and reopen bookings for the Classic trim to manage the rush. Bottom line? If you’re sold on the Kylaq, better lock in your order fast—especially if you want those entry-level trims or specific colors.
