The Skoda Kylaq subcompact SUV achieves an impressive milestone with 10,000 bookings in just 10 days, showcasing its widespread appeal with cutting-edge design, features, and performance.
The newly launched Skoda Kylaq, the smallest offering in Skoda Auto’s lineup, has achieved a significant milestone by raking in 10,000 bookings within just 10 days of opening its order books. Priced between Rs. 8 lakh and Rs. 14.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Kylaq has captivated Indian buyers even before reaching showrooms. This exceptional response is driven by the brand’s reputation and the SUV’s compelling features, despite bookings being made solely based on online information.

Skoda Auto India announced that test drives for the Kylaq will commence from January 27, 2025. This date will also mark the beginning of customer deliveries. In the interim, the strong demand has been a pleasant surprise for the company, reflecting trust in the Skoda brand.
Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda Auto India, shared his excitement over the SUV’s success: “10 days and 10,000 bookings, without a car in the showroom! For us, Kylaq is a completely new car, in a completely new sub-4m SUV segment. These 10,000 bookings have come without any possibility for customers to experience Kylaq, which reflects the unmatchable trust in the Skoda brand, and we are extremely humbled. We are confident that Kylaq will democratise European technology on Indian roads.”
To maintain momentum and generate buzz ahead of test drives and deliveries, Skoda Auto India has announced an innovative campaign called the ‘Dream Tour.’ Three Skoda Kylaq SUVs will embark on this tour, traveling across 70 cities over 43 days. At each destination, the SUVs will be on display, offering potential buyers and enthusiasts a chance to interact with the car in person.
Janeba added, “The India ‘Dream Tour’ will allow us to bring this exciting product closer to the ever-growing ‘Fans of Škoda.’ We aim to create a deeper connection with our customers by giving them first-hand experience of the Kylaq’s unique features and modern design language.”
The Skoda Kylaq is set to redefine the sub-4-metre SUV segment with its striking design, robust build, and advanced technology. It is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, available with two transmission options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter. Key highlights of the Kylaq include:
With its aggressive pricing, top-notch safety features, and Skoda’s hallmark build quality, the Kylaq aims to make a strong impact in the competitive subcompact SUV market. The overwhelming response to the Kylaq’s bookings suggests it is on track to become a bestseller for the brand. As excitement builds, the ‘Dream Tour’ is expected to further elevate customer interest, bridging the gap between online buzz and hands-on experience.
The Skoda Kylaq represents a bold step for Skoda Auto India, not only expanding their portfolio but also democratising premium European technology for Indian customers. January 2025 promises to be an exciting time as the Kylaq hits roads and showrooms across the country.
