Scooter Segment Drives Growth
Scooters remain Suzuki’s key growth driver in the Indian market. The Access, Burgman, and Avenis models contributed the majority of sales. The Access led the lineup with 70,137 units sold in February 2026, reflecting an 18.80% increase from 59,039 units a year earlier. Burgman Street also showed significant growth, with sales rising to 23,366 units, up 112.84% from 10,978 units in February 2025.
The Avenis model experienced a sharp increase, selling 5,127 units, which is a 270.98% rise from 1,382 units last year. The recently launched e-Access electric scooter added 732 units to the total, marking Suzuki’s entry into the electric vehicle segment. These results highlight the growing importance of scooters in Suzuki’s overall sales strategy.
Upcoming Launches and Market Strategy
Suzuki plans to further strengthen its scooter lineup with the launch of the new-generation Burgman on 2nd April 2026. The company released a teaser earlier this week, suggesting updates in design, features, and possibly efficiency. Given Burgman’s recent sales momentum, the new model is expected to play a key role in Suzuki’s future growth.
Motorcycle Segment Performance
Suzuki’s motorcycle segment saw mixed results in February 2026. Gixxer sales declined by 31.53% year-on-year to 847 units. In contrast, the V-Strom SX 250 recorded 812 units, up 74.62% from the previous year. Among premium motorcycles, Hayabusa registered 30 units, a 45.45% decrease year-on-year. Gixxer 250 sales fell sharply to 16 units, down 68.63%. GSX-8R and V-Strom 800 each reported 2 units, both experiencing year-on-year declines.
These figures show that while Suzuki’s scooter models continue to drive growth, the motorcycle segment remains niche and contributes a smaller share to total sales.
