Tata Punch Facelift Spied Testing: New Rear Design Update & More
The Tata Punch facelift has been spotted on test runs, showcasing sharper exterior styling, tech-rich interiors, and enhanced safety features. With possible turbo-petrol power and new-age upgrades.

Tata Punch is one of the most successful compact SUVs in the Indian market. Since its debut, the car has not received any major updates in three years. But this is going to change, as a recent spy shot surfaced on the internet that showcases the facelift model of the all-new upcoming Tata Punch. After its debut in October 2021, this will be the first time ever that the car is getting a major update.
Known for its rugged stance, 5-star safety rating, and efficient performance, the Punch has been among Tata’s best-selling cars. Now, with growing competition in the micro-SUV space, Tata also decided to give a major exterior as well as interior update to the car. Let us take a deep insight into the design and specs of the facelift version of the Tata Punch.
What’s New in the Update? Design and Styling

As per the report, a recent test mule of the upcoming Tata Punch has been spotted while testing in Pune. The car was kept under heavy camo wraps, but what was visible from the first glimpse was that the car will now have major exterior design tweaks. The facelifted Tata Punch will offer sharper design elements with enhanced cabin features and possibly a new engine option under the hood.
Industry analysts suggest that the all-new Tata Punch will share design language with the Nexon-inspired elements. With this, the car will have a redesigned front fascia with possible split headlamps with LED DRLs. From the recent test mule, we can also see an all-new wheel arch and new rear tail lights. This will give a more premium look to the car and raise its upmarket presence.
Premium Enhanced Interiors
Since we have no official details of the interiors of the car, we might expect that the cabin will be refined with new-and-improved seat upholstery. From the recent spy shots, we can admit that the Tata Punch facelift will receive a 2-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated brand logo in the center. The dashboard might boast a 7-inch infotainment cluster.
The remaining essential features must be carried over from the current model. Connectivity features through iRA telematics and enhanced voice assistant functions are also highly probable. For safety, the car will be offering 6 airbags as standard. However, the higher trim level might get advanced driver-assist functions integrated with a 360-degree camera, hill hold assist, and updated ESP.
Tata Punch Facelift: Engine Specs
To make the car under the catered budget, the facelift version of the Tata Punch will use the same powertrain unit as the current model. At present, it is powered by a 1.2L petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. An option for the 5-speed AMT will also be available on higher trim levels for customers.
This Revotron petrol engine is capable of producing 87 HP of power and 115 Nm of peak torque. With this, another engine option will be available for customers. This will be a 1.2L 3-cylinder CNG variant that revs out 73.5 HP of power and 103 Nm of torque.
Conclusion
The Tata Punch facelift might be expected to launch by the end of the 2025 season. The car might be priced at Rs 6.00 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Under such a catering price bracket, the Tata Punch is poised to grab even more attention than its predecessor. For buyers looking for a compact SUV that blends style, modernity, performance, and peace of mind, Tata Motors may soon have just the answer.
