Tesla Model Y L Launched in India: Price, Colours, Features and Specifications

Tesla has launched the Model Y L in India as a long-wheelbase version of the standard Model Y. The Model Y L is priced at Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra). Tesla also offers two other variants: Model Y Premium and Model Y Premium Long-Range.

Exterior and Interior Colour Options

The new Model Y is available in several exterior colour options. Only Stealth Grey is included as standard. Customers can choose other colours for an additional cost. Cosmic Silver is exclusive to the Model Y L, while Quick Silver is available for the other two trims. The remaining five colours are standard across all three variants.

For the interior, the Model Y comes with an all-black cabin as standard. Tesla charges Rs 95,000 extra for the Zen Grey interior option.

Features and Equipment

The Model Y L offers a 16-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front row seats, heated second row seats, and an 18-speaker music system. The SUV also includes multiple airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and fully autonomous driving capabilities.

Performance and Range

Tesla does not disclose battery pack details for its vehicles. However, the Model Y L features a dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) system. It offers a claimed range of 681 km, which is 20 km more than the long-range Model Y. The Model Y L can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in five seconds and has a top speed of 201 kmph.

Market Position and Rivals

Currently, there are no direct 3-row electric SUVs available in India. The Model Y L competes with models such as the Kia EV6, BYD Sealion 7, BMW iX1, and Volvo EC40.
