It’s been a month since Tesla arrived in India for the first time. With the launch of its Model Y, Tesla made its foray into the Indian EV market. However, the brand launched its first Supercharging station in India just one month after its spectacular debut. This Supercharging hub will be opening on August 4, 2025, in BKC, Mumbai.

This facility is a part of Tesla’s broader plan to create a network of eight Supercharging locations across the country. This electrification setup will help support seamless, long-distance EV travel. Here’s everything you need to know about Tesla’s first Supercharging Station in India.

Inside Mumbai’s Tesla Supercharging Hub

Tesla’s inaugural Indian charging hub is far from standard. The first EV charging station will have four V4 Supercharging stalls equipped with all-new DC fast chargers and another with four destination chargers, which you may also call AC chargers. These supercharging stalls will be capable of delivering 250 kW, charging the Tesla cars from 0 to 60 in just 15 minutes.

Tesla drivers can add up to 267 km of range in just 15 minutes. That’s enough power to make you and your friends travel five rounds through the airport without breaking a sweat. The 25 kW charging speed will start at Rs 24 per kW, while Destination chargers (11 kW) will be provided at Rs 14 per kW. For the payment process, you can refer to the Tesla app on your smartphone.

Seamless Experience, Powered by Tech

To use the charger, Tesla electric vehicle owners must plug their vehicles into charging stations. Then, to check availability, customers can use the Tesla app for a smoother experience. This official Tesla Mobile application allows you to monitor your car's charging process, check battery conditions, receive notifications while charging, and pay for charging.

From plug-in to payment, the Tesla experience remains all about user convenience and global consistency. The US-based company says that its supercharging network has a charging uptime of about 99%. However, the charging speed will be determined by several factors, such as how long the vehicle has travelled and the current battery state of charge and temperature.

The Tesla Model Y will guide its owner to the nearest supercharging station. This will resonate with the built-in navigation and automatically pre-condition the battery upon arriving at the station.

Tesla’s Online Design Studio

Alongside the BKC Supercharging Station, Tesla has also opened its online Design Studio across India. This new Design Studio will allow customers nationwide to customize and order vehicles seamlessly on its website. The deliveries of the Model Y will be available in rear-wheel drive.

Conclusion

With the launch of Tesla’s first Supercharging station, customers benefit the most not only from a robust charging network but also from Tesla’s customer-centric approach. Wall connector with every new model purchase. However, the Tesla Model Y in India comes with a CCS2 charging point.
