The vehicle will initially be imported as a completely built unit before local production begins. This SUV will be a part of Honda’s new 0 Series, aimed at redefining mobility with a focus on being thin, light, and wise. It features cutting-edge software integration, automated driving capabilities, and spacious interiors designed for comfort and efficiency. Let’s take a look at the upcoming Honda 0 Series SUV.

The Design

The SUV will be one of the first of the seven models in Honda’s 0 Series of EVs. According to recent photos that surfaced on the internet, we can see an unconventional design inspired by the Space Hub concept that was showcased earlier at CES 2024. Its squared-off rear aesthetic gives it an MPV stance with a large glasshouse to maximize visibility and spaciousness inside. A few notable features are the U-shaped taillamp at the rear and the futuristic-styled front and rear bumpers.

Inside, the vehicle might offer enhanced comfort and practicality with a long wheelbase of around 2,700-2,800 mm and smart space utilization. The upright rear tailgate hints at ample luggage room, making it suitable for families and lifestyle-oriented buyers.

Honda has yet to disclose its technical specifications, but has revealed that the SUV will offer rear-wheel and all-wheel drive as an option to customers. Industrial experts suggest battery capacities between 80 kWh and 100 kWh, delivering a driving range of approximately 482 km on a single charge. Battery technology will reportedly utilize lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) medium to cope better with Indian climatic conditions.

New Software and Safety Features

The Honda 0 Series SUV will be a software-defined vehicle running on the brand-new ASIMO OS, an operating system tailored to integrate vehicle systems, driver aids, infotainment, and over-the-air updates. The SUV is expected to come equipped with Level 3 automated driving capabilities, allowing limited hands-free driving under specific conditions, setting new benchmarks in the Indian EV market.

Conclusion

The Honda 0 Series SUV launch in India in 2026 signals a major step for the brand towards electric mobility, combining futuristic design, advanced battery technology, and intelligent software integration. With its spacious interiors and competitive range, the SUV is expected to appeal to discerning buyers looking for an efficient yet premium electric SUV option.
