Mahindra is gearing up to unveil a major facelift for its flagship SUV, the XUV 700, maybe rebranded as the XUV 7XO. Expected to launch in January 2026, this refreshed model promises a fresh design identity and advanced technology upgrades, setting a new benchmark in its segment. The XUV7XO will cement Mahindra's dominance in the competitive Indian SUV market.
Built on the popularity of the original XUV 700, the XUV 7XO facelift blends rugged styling with sophisticated cabin enhancements and cutting-edge features. Its arrival marks a strategic repositioning with a new nameplate, following the brand’s pattern seen with the recently updated XUV 3XO, raising anticipation among Indian SUV enthusiasts and buyers.
Redesigned Exterior with Sharper Styling

The XUV 7XO features notable exterior updates while retaining the familiar robust silhouette of the XUV 700. Up front, it boasts a redesigned grille with larger air inlets and a more upright stance, complemented by new twin-pod LED headlamps with a fresh LED daytime running lamp signature.
The revamped front bumper includes sharper air dams and a pronounced skid plate, enhancing its sporty and aggressive look. New alloy wheels complete the visual upgrade, and although the rear keeps its LED taillamp design, the bumper is subtly refreshed for a modern touch.
New Interior Upgrades
Inside, the XUV 7XO ushers in a significant leap in technology with a new triple-screen setup spanning a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a 12.3-inch co-entertainment screen for rear passengers, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display.
The interior theme remains light and premium, featuring beige upholstery and soft-touch materials. Added luxury includes massaging front seats, ventilated rear captain seats in six-seater variants, multi-color ambient lighting, and a premium 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system delivering immersive sound. Practicality is enhanced with sliding middle-row seats and wireless phone charging.

Enhanced Safety Features
The XUV 7XO continues Mahindra’s commitment to safety with an extensive suite of features. It retains seven airbags (six offered as standard), electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. The facelift also adds Level 2+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include self-parking capabilities and advanced driver aids enhancing both convenience and safety on the road.
Mahindra XUV 700 Facelift: Powertrain Specifications

The XUV 7XO carries forward the proven powertrains from the XUV700. This includes the 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine producing 197 hp and two diesel engine options in 155 hp and 185 hp trims. Transmission choices are expected to include both manual and automatic variants, along with an option for 4WD in diesel versions.
Production is slated to commence in December 2025 with an official launch in January 2026. Positioned against rivals like the next-gen Tata Safari, the XUV7XO is set to stimulate excitement for the premium SUV segment in 2026.
Conclusion
The rebranded and refreshed Mahindra XUV7XO embodies a comprehensive update that meets evolving customer demands for technology, comfort, and safety without compromising the muscular appeal and performance that the XUV700 established in the Indian market.
