Skoda Auto India is making plans to expand its business portfolio in India. The Czech automaker has recently announced the highly anticipated return of its most performance-centric sedan, the Skoda Octavia RS. The next-gen Octavia RS is set to arrive on the Indian mainland as the fully built unit (FBU). The car is poised to offer dynamic engineering and exhilarating motoring experiences.
This iconic sedan is globally revered for its rally-inspired genes and unmistakable RS spirit. According to the latest report, the pre-bookings for the all-new Octavia RS will open on October 6, 2025, marking the comeback of Skoda Auto’s most iconic performance car. The car is set to launch in mid-November 2025. With this launch, Skoda promises to deliver unmatched driving machines with bold design and iconic RS spirit.
The upcoming Skoda Octavia RS will signify more than just a performance sedan. Having first debuted in 2004 as India’s earliest turbocharged petrol engine sedan, the Octavia RS quickly garnered a devoted following among enthusiasts. With its return in 2025, the RS once again takes its place as an aspirational icon in the Indian automotive market. The 2025 iteration returns as a global icon, combining a bolder design, sharper dynamics, and an exclusivity factor designed to intrigue purists.
Speaking about the return of the Octavia RS, Mr. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, said, “Earlier this year, we promised that a global icon would return to India. Today, I am proud to announce that we are ready to deliver that promise with the Octavia RS. This badge carries an unmatched legacy, one that has sparked passion among enthusiasts across the globe for over two decades.”

The upcoming Octavia RS will be the 4th generation model. Considering its design, the car will carry the same design language with subtle tweaks under the RS badging. The front fascia of the car might have a blacked-out radiator grille with a bigger air intake arched on all-new sporty wheels. At the rear, the car might look aesthetically cool with sporty, continuing LED taillights.
Under the hood, the car will be powered by a formidable 2.0L TSI turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The engine is robust and can produce 265 HP and 370 Nm of maximum torque. The sedan accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds and boasts a top speed of 250 kmph.

Skoda Auto India will commence with the pre-bookings for the Octavia RS on October 6, 2025, exclusively through the official website. The new Octavia RS will be imported as a Fully Built Unit (FBU) and will be available only for a selected period of time. The brand has not disclosed any official pricing of the Skoda Octavia RS.
The suffix RS stands for Rally Sport. The RS badging on the Skoda Octavia stands for performance, precision and adrenaline rush across the generations. The RS variants generally originated from the Skoda rallying successors. Thus, the RS model has become a symbol of motorsport-inspired engineering on the road. In the Indian context, the Octavia RS stands as a trailblazer, having introduced turbocharged performance and European driving sophistication to a new era of enthusiasts and mainstream buyers alike.
The return of the Octavia RS fits within Skoda Auto’s Next Level Strategy, aimed at expanding its leadership in important growth markets such as India, while also focusing on progressive BEV, hybrid, and ICE offerings worldwide. The 2025 Škoda Octavia RS returns as a true performance icon, blending razor-sharp dynamics, limited exclusivity, and the RS legacy. An enthusiast’s dream, redefined for today’s India.
