Toyota has officially launched the Land Cruiser FJ in Thailand at an introductory price of 1,269,000 THB (Rs 36.5 lakh). The compact off-roader, first unveiled in October 2025, is currently manufactured in Thailand. Toyota plans to begin production in India by 2028 at its upcoming plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, which will also serve export markets.

The Land Cruiser FJ is available in a single high-spec trim. It is powered by a 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift. The SUV uses a ladder-frame chassis and features a part-time 4WD system with a rear differential lock.
The vehicle rides on 18-inch wheels fitted with 265/60 R18 tyres. It measures 4,610 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,890 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. The ground clearance stands at 245 mm, supporting its off-road capability.

The 'Meridian' version is designed for off-road use, featuring a snorkel, underbody protection, ARB hardware, a roof rack, 17-inch Lenso MX Dinero alloy wheels, heavy-duty tyres, and a 20 mm lift kit with Old Man Emu springs and Nitrocharger Plus shocks.
The 'Nature Explorer' concept is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts. It includes grille-mounted ARB spotlights, Nacho LEDs, a rooftop tent, a full-size ARB roof rack, a side awning, and Lenso MX Marvel alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres.
The 'Legendary' concept draws inspiration from the classic FJ40, featuring Sandstone Yellow paint, body-colored fenders, and circular LED DRLs. The 'Street Cruiser' version is built for urban environments, with 20-inch Lenso Jager Astra alloy wheels, road-focused tyres, and a rear carrier for a compact motorcycle or bicycle.
Several official accessory packages are available. The 'Unbound Explorer' kit, priced at 32,450 THB (Rs 94,404), includes a snorkel, ARB engine under shield, and overfender set. The 'Urban Unique' package, at 32,700 THB (Rs 93,700), offers dashcams, engine under guard, grille garnish, door moulding, spare tyre cover garnish, fuel lid garnish, and side visors. The 'Freedom Journey' package, costing 36,400 THB (Rs 1.05 lakh), includes an ARB roof rack tray.
The Land Cruiser FJ is expected to launch in India in 2028, with local manufacturing planned to support both domestic and export markets.
