Ultraviolette’s F99 electric motorcycle has made history by completing a standing quarter-mile in 10.712 seconds at the Valley Run event held at Aamby Valley on December 1, 2024. This achievement, verified by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI), makes the F99 the fastest Indian motorcycle ever, beating the previous record set in 2022. Ultraviolette also revealed plans to pursue the record for the highest top speed by an Indian motorcycle in the near future.

The F99 is packed with advanced technology, featuring a carbon fiber exoskeleton and a carbon fiber battery pack. It produces 120 horsepower (90 kW) and 972 Nm of torque at the wheels. Powered by a 400V battery architecture, it also comes with a liquid-cooled drivetrain. Weighing in at 180 kg, the F99 can go from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds and hit 200 km/h in under 10 seconds.

Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, stated that this milestone highlights India’s growing capabilities in engineering and design, challenging the global view that high-performance vehicles are only made in international markets.

Additionally, Niraj Rajmohan, Co-founder and CTO of Ultraviolette, shared the engineering challenges faced in building the F99, such as advancements in aerodynamics, structural design, battery systems, and vehicle electronics. He hopes the F99 will inspire more innovation in India’s technology sector.

Technological advances from the F99 have also contributed to the development of Ultraviolette’s F77 Mach 2, a performance-focused electric motorcycle available at UVSpace Stations across India. Features like regenerative braking and fast-charging capabilities in the F77 stem from research conducted during the F99's development.

To celebrate this achievement, Ultraviolette has launched a limited-edition merchandise collection called "The Fastest Indian," which commemorates the F99’s record-breaking quarter-mile time. Only 99 units of this collection will be available on the Ultraviolette website.
