KTM is preparing to introduce a big update to its popular middleweight street bike the KTM 790 Duke, the upcoming 790 Duke has been spotted testing abroad again, and the recent images showcase a production ready motorcycle this time. The fresh images suggest some noticeable changes to the bike with its design, hardware, and its appearance. With sharper styling and reworked elements, the new 790 Duke is all set to enhance KTM’s presence in the competitive middleweight naked segment.

The most noticeable change seen with the KTM 790 Duke is its new design, the bike appears more aggressive, muscular and carries a stronger road presence when compared to the current model. At the front KTM has completely revised the 790 Duke with a sharper and more compact headlamp unit. Moreover, complimenting the overall look is the vertical headlight design with a projector that seems inspired from the bigger Duke models like the 990 Duke and the Super Duke R. The fuel tank has also been revised with added sharp tank extension that gives it a bolder and more modern look.

Another clear change is the exhaust. It now looks smaller and sharper in design. The exhaust still runs underneath the bike, but the end section is shorter and sportier, helping improve balance and overall looks. Moreover , one of the most interesting details visible in the spy shots is the braking setup. The test bike is equipped with WP-branded brake callipers at both ends. The brake discs appear large, hinting at strong stopping power suitable for the bike’s performance output. Meanwhile the wheels, tyres, and overall chassis proportions remain familiar, which suggests that KTM has focused more on refinement rather than a complete overhaul. The riding position seen in the images still looks upright and sporty, typical of the Duke family, making it suitable for both city riding and spirited highway runs.

There isn’t any official announcement from the brands about any mechanical updates, yet the engine is likely to remain unchanged. The ongoing model of the 790 Duke uses a 799cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that delivers strong performance and smooth power delivery. Though there might be some minor tuning in the engine for better performance.
At present KTM has not confirmed the official launch timeline for the 790 Duke in India. However, repeated sightings and the near-production look of the bike hints toward a global debut could happen sooner. Following the updates the pricing for the updated 790 Duke pricing could start from 12 lakh (ex-show).

The updated KTM 790 Duke looks like a smart evolution rather than a drastic change. With sharper styling and premium hardware, it feels more in line with KTM’s bigger motorcycles. If priced right, it could attract riders looking for strong performance, bold design, and everyday usability in a middleweight naked bike.
